Those Toads are chaotic. No interest in giving Mario and Luigi the best items to save the day. Pure chaos. Unless they’re worried that that armies of Bowser are watching and will crush their family business when they spy favouritism?

I'd say this captures the item hoarding mentality of players pretty well. I myself save a Hammer Suit for Bowser for a rewarding finale.
My issue is a tad bit less extreme, i only hoard the best items, ill have a normal amount of potions and super potions, but ill sure have a lot of hyper potions and max potions on my rpgs!

Same like on subnautica I never use the nutrient blocks because they're too good and limited
Resident Evil is the biggest copalite for me. I always end up with more shotgun shells and grenades at the end.

The lava pit with a ghost seemed like the perfect time to use it. Timed right, the tanuki suit’s statue form’s feet can actually pop those fireballs ☄️📌

I know this feeling far to well. I’ve beaten Mario 3 numerous times and every time I have two to three pages of items at the end of the game. Many times I have to use items because I run out of room to hold them all. Every time I say I’m going to use my items this time and every time I don’t.
Mario 3 not an RPG, but... every RPG player ever lol. I mean I did this too in Mario 3 just saying yeaaaah that's kind of a RPG staple.

Yep that's me in Skyrim, Pokemon, Fire Emblem, need to have at least 1 of each item, that master ball, save it for only the best Pokemon... but naaah I'm good enough Mewtwo can stay in this pokeball, I think the only RPG franchise that has never made hoarding an issue was Zelda, aside from rupees and potions maybe... until Breath of the Wild when stuff can break.
Nice to see that Dorkly actually addressed a criticism from way back in the day about the way the characters were animated. The unique poses look so much better than having the arms and head just float around the body.
Mario is honestly me every time I play Mario 3.
in certain water levels if you don't use special items like the Frog suit, you can't find some secret zones though. And the same is valid with the P-wing and certain levels in the sky. Also if you bring with you the 3 Warp Whistles in level 8, they become literally useless at the end, so it's better to use stuff earlier
@@vados8500 yeah but the warp whistle is 100% useless if you actually want to play through the game.. it's more just to skip things
if you want that then you can just collect the first 2 in world 1
this is me in just about EVERY RPG game i have ever played, or any game that has a lot of 'random stuff' to collect, i just don't want to 'waste' it and sometimes i don't even bother looking at what it does
like all the crap i collect in dark souls

Honestly, with how the Frog Suit restricts your movements, it might have actually been a good choice for the airship. No flighty jumping and sliding to accidentally put you in line with a stray projectile.
There is actually special conversation if you beat one of the Koopa Kids with a frog suit (or any special suit). But the frog suit is the best one.
I don't think you're cut out for the hero business
The tanooki suit wasnt good on the airship anyways, you cant fly on such a small space and youll lose it very quickly dur to the massive amount of bullet bills.

We know it's always a great day when Dorkly uploads, and no, I am not trying to just impersonate the annoying bot, he actually doesn't upload very often. This reminds me of how sometimes I get these special items in games, or even just common items, and end up just keeping them in my inventory and saving them even when I could really use one. I just knew what would happen, I knew that the goomba would hit Mario Juniour, that was quite funny, haha. Welp, at least in 50 years, probably at least one more was found. They saved it for a long time which was good, but it's not so much about how long you save it for as how much use you make out of it, if only they had used it at the bullet bill part where they were doomed. I love the goomba then talked (like what usually happens in your videos) and said that and yeah.

This is really me. I always save the rare items only ended up not using it after I finished playing the game lol
This is me in almost every game with consumable items. My Skyrim characters have inventories full of items which I save for that perfect moment, and then I die forgetting I had them.
I'm the same way in the Kingdom Hearts games. Even during a Lv 1 run, I absolutely *refuse* to use items. I always think "what if I need it later?" or "what if I need to sell it?"

It always happens that to me in every metroid game with the missiles, I always am spamming the power/wave/plasma/nova/ice beam even if I have 150 or more missiles, also with the power bombs have the same issue with them

Really? I mean, you have to shoot those bullet-spongy bosses with something, why not use ammo thats meant for bossfights?
@@alekzanderor5489 Because i end up saving it for "next boss" or mostly final boss but when the time comes, i end up killing them with regular weapon or having so much magnum bullets left over. I remember in code veronica, i saved up all the magnum ammos for final boss and barely if not never used it. kill it with a hand gun and maybe other weapon.
Bruh. It's like watching myself. I'm so miserly in games, and by the time I finally decide to use the special item, I'm strong enough that it doesn't even really help anymore. 😅
I always saved my special items for some time in the distant future in all games.

Also the fireflower on map consumable, they can be get at the card game every 800000 points or similar, but you cant have enought of them.

That suit also turn into a stone statue you would be invincible about short amount of time.

@@Gumbier_Than: I think a lot of people don't realize the raccoon suit, which also has a tail, is a different thing. I've heard more than one person exclaim, "Ooh, a Tanooki suit!" when the leaf power-up for the raccoon suit appears.
That's the only difference between the Tanooki suit and the Super Leaf.
