- Welcome back to The Furniture Flipper's Guide ! In this video, I am creating a modern makeover of a truly loved Christmas decor favorite: the Modern Style Metallic Nutcracker (trending in high end stores, but definitely not in my price range) So let's make an affordable Modern Nutcracker, taking it from natural wood and turning into a sleek and high-end Christmas decor piece you will love and cherish for years to come. With a unique metallic design and a pop of sparkle we will really give it that holiday feel. Join me as I share the process, techniques, and the products used to achieve this transformation.
Modern Metallic Nutcracker Makeover
A Simple Way to Add Warmth and Modern Beauty to Your Holiday Decor at an Affordable Price

Level: Beginner
Time for Project: 60 minutes (not including paint dry time)
Step 1:
Paint each Nutcracker with Up Paint Metallic Paint Color/s using varied size brushes to get into detail areas as needed. (If wanting to leave any areas un-painted, such as “days til Christmas” use painters tape to cover prior to painting)
Let fully dry.
Step 2:
Determine areas you want glittered and tape off. Use a small brush to add glue, and sprinkle on glitter. Remove tape and use a clean dry paintbrush to lightly remove any excess glitter.
Step 3:
Use waxing brush to seal with Up Paint salve.
