      Matthew Sharpe They have definitely gone up in price, no doubt. But I wouldn't say madly.
      There still isn't any competition at a price point between Hyundai and Kia. I have just kinda imagined it would be like choosing a Mercury or a Ford. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying they are bad cars and I'm aware of the strides in quality the Koreans have made. But I'm also a firm believer in you get what you pay for comparatively speaking of course.

      coffeeblak86 They're Kia owners with close to 300,000 miles on their vehicles. Cars are cars and almost all cars today are built pretty well. If something is going to fail, it's most likely going to fail on another vehicle as well..or something else will. Vehicle manufacturers use parts from hundreds of suppliers it's not like everything from Kia is from Kia and everything from Ford is from Ford. we need to get rid of this Hyundai and Kia stereotypes because the fact is they're built pretty damn well today. we need to get off the blogs and learn real-world experience

    My grandpa bought a 2018 Cadenza in the limited trim. It is an amazing car! I have both rode in it and driven it. It rides and drives perfectly. My favorite features are the white nappa leather with front heated and cooled seats and rear heated seats, 360 degree camera, and the heads up display. I also like the active safety features and the blind spot monitoring + rear cross traffic alert. I know it will definetly be reliable, the 3.3 V6 is awesome. And you cant beat the warranty or bang for your buck. Kia has done it again with another stunning car!

    I'm a very big MotorWeek fan however I continue to notice the biggest issue with your acceleration testing with numbers that consistently drag behind every other publication... your test track namely the quarter mile and 0-60 test lanes are extremely worn with pavement that's almost glass like slick. It's almost impossible to get a great launch off the line with almost every vehicle spinning its tires just like this Cadenza. There is absolutely no way this car is this slow especially with a class average of around 6.4 seconds to sixty. I really think a repaving of your track would greatly improve the numbers for every vehicle you test. Otherwise, please continue to keep up the fantastic work.

    • @KickoStocks
      @KickoStocks Před 7 lety

      Eric Fortune it was a really cool SUV, most people don't even realize that Kia made some pretty incredible body on frame 4x4s. Maybe instead of making this new sedan between the K900 and Optima they could use the funds to take a shot at 4Runner and Jeep? Not a lot of real SUVs out there anymore!

    • @SmangItDrums
      @SmangItDrums Před 6 lety

      The Borrego is still in production overseas as the Mojave. It was a good option at the time, but Kia pulled the plug on it here in the US because it didn’t sell anywhere near as well as the car-based options available. The tried-and-true 4x4 market for SUVs is clearly a niche market now, so if Kia was to bring out a model like that, they’d know that it won’t be the sales leader like it used to be in the 90’s and early 2000’s.

    Call me crazy, but the Ford Taurus SHO is the best large sedan you can buy right now for the price. It can be had with similar amenities + the ecoboost v6 and awd for a mere $42k. I'm sure you can get a few discounts and dealer incentives and get a new one in the upper $30s. Not sure why anyone would get this over a Taurus, a Lexus ES, or Buick LaCross.

      @SmangItDrums Před 6 lety

      While the Taurus is certainly quick, it has many faults, such as a the driving experience (the car is too heavy, so adding suspension and braking components to compensate won’t exactly help), the front of the interior is still too cramped for most drivers, and it’s not the most quality of products you can find in this class. If you want outright speed in a straight line, then sure, the SHO will a fair amount of stoplight races, but honestly, you get what you pay for.

      You must have been in the old version. The new version has so much seat leg room and head room, and the seats are so nice!

      Andy's Shop actually they were new version. Yes it was very specious but interior quality is not really better than optima/k5, it just like bigger k5. On the other hand the last version of hyundai azera/grandeur was vey comfortable and the ride quality was also great.
      Of course it's only my personal view

      @@HBKiran I agree on the not worth $45k new for the top trim. What i did was I bought the mid trim (which is still pretty well equipped) used. I got a 2017 technology one year old and about 12k miles on it for $25500. New it would have been about $39800.
