Corpse Flower, Butterfly Sanctuary & Getting Hit In The Face By A Cicada

When our original plans for a Butterflies & Brunch event was cancelled we decided to still make a day of it by spending time at some beautiful gardens! After getting hit in the face one time by a cicada I am very glad they never made their way to Chicago.

Ooo, our corpse flower at the San Diego Botanical Garden bloomed yesterday. It was a nice stinky way to start our weekend!

I'm in Berwyn right outside of Chicago, and my garden is full of weeds this year because of my fear of Cicadas. I had a swarm in my backyard. I only watered and ran back in house.

Lol I had a cicada come in my house the other night. I wasn't thinking and opened the door to let my dog out and it came crashing in. It thrashed around for about five minutes before I used half a can of bug spray on it. During that twenty minute ordeal...I noticed I still hadn't let my dog out. 🤦🏽‍♀️
