Every nation has a quest where one of the underlying themes are betrayals from someone the npc/creature trusted and theres always a part where the person questions Paimon and her loyalty or us and our trust in Paimon.

I have a theory is that paimon is the primodial god but in a weakened state. You can see that the symbol on mora and the genesis crystal symbolizes "fake". But paimon's symbol is rewind,so the symbol represents "real". From what I've know, the second who came from teyvat were defeated. Then celestia's attitude took a whole turn. What if, the second who came actually defeated the primodial god and took the identity of the primodial god? The second who came were actually imposters,and just mislead us? So in conclusion, paimon is the weakened state of the primodial god.

I'mma act surprised If she turns out to be a God or a celestial. Like throughout my playthrough, I started getting suspicious because she's one of a kind. I'm the only one who have this floating one in the world.
Tbh, I feel like Paimon was one of the 3 moon sisters, and was sent down to watch the traveler for some reason.

I think that this explains her abandonment issues. She lost and everybody forgot about her as the primordial one. The ones who were her people had all forgotten about her. Looking at paimons personality, I can't help but think that Paimon was a gentle god. The fake god most likely liked chaos leading to him ordering celestia to do the archon war and cataclysm.
So yeah, since she lost the entire land she held dearly, she doesn't want to lose the traveler, both because Paimons become attached, but also because she knows that she and the traveler will reach celestia in time.

while i was watching the conclusion, i also realized that if paimon really is the primordial one, then what if shes leading the traveler to the second who came because she couldn't defeat him. like she leads the traveler to the second who came, makes the traveler fight the second, then finally reveals her true form to defeat the second herself.
Hey when albedo said that paimon and traveler were connected might be true since in the first act of Fontaine Lyney does a trick and it shows a string that connects the traveler and paimon

also paimon is the only one floating around and literally nobody has ever questioned or surprised by her appearance . and the fact that we have never saw anybody like her points out she is unique
After the new update, a special melusine says she sees Paimon as a floating rainbow balloon with a single string connected somewhere beyond the sky and the traveller as a monster capable of swallowing the world in a single bite. Something about the "nature" of things and their "future". Rainbow = omni element, balloon = floating, connected to sky = her origins, monster capable of swallowing the world = receiving elements + traveler's future role. Coincidence? I think NOT.
That said, I don't think she's acting or pretending. Assuming she IS the primordial god, then she's probably just really weak now having lost all her powers so that's why a lot of things affect her, and she eats a lot (especially slimes which are elemental beings) instinctually to regain her powers. And as for being affected by Irminsul, there must be something else up with it just like how our abyss sibling seems to be part of it instead of being counted as another descender.

Another thing that might suggest paimon is faking mempry loss from irminsul - when scaramouche gained his memory back from nahida, and started acting emo again paimon says something like "oh he's back to being his old mean self again" which would imply paimon is familiar with scaras old personality before erasing the memory but how is that possible because we only told her that he used to be a bad guy not what his personality was like... HOWEVER we also have to consider paimons personality as a whole, the primordial one sent out various nails on the earth which kiIIed many people and they also cursed seelies, the godess of flowers told king deshret - "seek not the master of the 4 shades" but paimon dosent seem like skmeone who would do any of those things to me, of shes faking her entire personality 24/7 shes doing a really good job
Yeah i explained this point in my previous video and i talked about the reason why the nails fell, and the fight between the primordial one and the second who came!
Imagine at the end the Plot Twist is that Teyvat is just a simulation made by Paimon who is a scientist and that she made it because she can't accept that her universe have been destroyed and Dainsleif who is her friend will try to wake her up from this dream ( Just like at the Genshin Travail made by Hoyoverse, *Show me that you are worthy than I to rescue Her* assuming it's not your twin but another girl )
In Honkai Impact, you can see Otto looking the monitor and you can see a dragon that looks like Dvalin and the background are ruined modern city and something chaotic happened at that time, it could also be Khaenri'ah

I feel like it’s gonna be something similar to Ni No Kuni where she’s a younger manifestation of the Primordial One (or whoever she is) which explains why she acts so childlike instead of just straight up lying to us
Plus isn’t it just a bit weird that a *fairy* who can *fly* is drowning? Also why was Paimon coincidentally “drowning” when the traveller was nearby _and_ fishing? Surely a fairy who seems to be the last of her kind, which is equally as weird, and can fly shouldn’t be drowning unless they were put in that position in the war in Khaenr’ia which is unlikely since I doubt someone can drown for 500 years, she could’ve had a fight with the second coming which would only be possible depending on when they fought since again no one can drown for hundreds of years or paimon purposely started “drowning” to get the travellers attention.
I just can't bear hearing Paymen again and again.

we need an archon quest fully focuses on paimon
2 months later.. but I have 2 theory’s one is that if the unknown god created paimon to keep a sharp eye on the traveller(s) which is why she is trying to help us to find our sibling and the reason why Mona can’t see a lot about paimon is because the unknown god made it so that no one could see anything past or future about paimon keep in mind we don’t know a lot about the unknown god. That’s why she many references to celestia/ the unknown god in her design.
2 theory if paimon is actually good is that the unknown god did make it so no one can see paimons past or future but paimon actually fell from celestia before the unknown god could actually brainwash her or make her evil but paimon just woke up before falling somewhere where traveller could fish out but she did not drown for some reason did not die so that could mean she could survive the fall from celestia she only remembers falling into a whirlpool and some of the important laws of teyvat for some reason.
I’m no lore expert so you can correct me if I’m wrong but, at least we know that paimons emergency food.
im pretty sure in that scaramoche thing with the purple smoke, scaramoche said that the smoke only does harm based on your emotion and the only reason why the traveler fainted was because he was angry but paimon was just worried (correct me if im wrong)
If this theory actually came out to be true in a few more years, Hoyoverse might have to sue you for spoiling..😅

the symbol on paimons stomach is called a triquetra, it means "three-cornered" which represents unity, protection and *everlasting life* i truly believe paimon is the primordial one due to calling herself the god of protection and having a child like form which can give hints of the protection and everlasting life meaning in the triquetra.

theres a feature in PS5 genshin where menu paimon's crown falls off. she specifically says"tiara" sooo.. do with that what you will

I absolutely agree. I will add that she should be behind the Unknown Goddess, because it was she who began the new history of Gemini in Teyvat. And Paimon leads us to Celestia. I'm sure that Dinsleif works for Paimon))))
This is really a good theory and the flow process of explanation is clear. I have believed in the longest time that Paimon could be the moon sister, or the seelie who fell in love. But she got crown, and that crown literally is the symbol icon of Genshin, not to mention she's literally the mascot of Genshin

I never liked the theory of Paimon being the God of time or the unknown god or whatever and was thinking about the possibility of her being the primordial one who has had some memory alteration that made her forget who she is and whatnot. Excellent video that covered a lot of ground!

If you take notice to Paimon's design, its basically the pillars in the loading screen. And as we know, the loading screen is supposedly Celestia. Although we cannot tell what Paimon is exactly until they reveal her, we know that she is somewhat related to Celestia.

Paimon may not be faking the memory loss. Guoba lost most of his memories as well as his powers when he shrunk. Same thing with Nahida (in a way) she had no memories or knowledge of Rukkhadevata when she was created, she was like a human child.
Honestly, I hope hoyoverse are planning to release a FINAL archon quest based on paimon, OR a story quest about her where u have to do daily tasks to get the story key. Hoyoverse are always full of surprises so idk
i really like your theory. i haven't seen anyone else create a link between the imaginary element (from other hoyoverse titles) and omni element. it certainly is a feasible tie-in to the honkai titles!
Paimon by nature isn’t evil because just someone loses their memory doesn’t mean they lose their soul she in most times are not thinking of ways to cause harm to others or make us do so like she could do that in hidden way not directly yet paimon is just there we decide everything ourselves and go where we wanna go she just there to accompany us in our journey and after that part in sumeru where traveler and her get separated i felt like im missing paimon by my side ofc i was glad she didn’t talk over me and be annoying in dialogue for a moment but that feeling like the only person who knows me the traveler is not with me is kinda sad
I like the theory however it feel’s like we are missing something and it’s right in front of our faces. Well, I guess only time will tell.

the primordial one would also basically be the god of the archons so the same design on her boots shows up on the statues at a specific level (when kazuha was talking about the stars he would also be including traveler as they were a shooting star when they came to teyvat) and i think it could be possible that something couldve happened to her wings so she got a scarf to represent those wings especially because the pieces coming off are shaped the same as the wings just facing the same direction
While watching this, I drowned an noticed the “omni” symbol, so if paimon would be the “omni” god, then maybe paimon is reviving us when we die, therefore meaning she is the god of protection
The thing I pain to find in every theory about Paimon is that Zhong Li gave us one of the most bizarre pieces of information about her :
''Please give this Remedium Tertiorum to him on my behalf. Oh, yes... be sure not to let Paimon eat them. Nothing of this world can withstand the power of this medicine.''
This along with the fact of her being affected by Erminsul if she's not faking it, DOES NOT discard the possibility of her being a Celestial being, it could just lead us to understand more about how this world works, and how apparently Celestial/otherwordly beings like the Traveler's sibling, Istharot, Nabu Malikata and the Seeles, and even Morax if he's unveiled to be one of them ended up almost trapped in Teyvat and almost as if punished (trapped in the Fate system, being stripped of their minds, being imposed to undergo erosion ...)
This might be just a stretch but I thought it was worth mentioning.

In the bit where you talk about Paimon's power, you forgot to add that after the Traveler gets Dendro power, Paimon is also imbued with it. In the Archon Quest of the dream loop samsara, Nahida says that only those blessed with the power of Dendro can retain memories and knowledge from one dream cycle to the next.

ive been trying to find paimons dialogue when she explained why shes in the water that has something to do with an accident when the traveler fished her, so yah shes not in the water for thousands of years. that dialogue was so short and im not paying attention when it appeared. you may want to search that :) . one thing ive learned in my years of playing different games... even if the connections looks convincing we will never know until its known. but this theories are entertaining, keep it up.
What if Paimon is only using The Travelers to get to Celestia to get her powers back from the Heavenly Principals? Since she is the Sustainer Of The Heavenly Principals. Since Paimon isn't an Allogene, she can't ascend to Celestia on her own.
