The truth is that Daft Punk are smart businessmen. They study the industry trends and plan for that. The reson that Daft Punk's Get Lucky album took 5 years was because they spent a good couple years studying trends with experts and making sure they have the right track for the right audience at the peak of the industry (in this case, the dance music revolution). They were legends and they stole the show again by careful planning.
Wow! I did not know musicians did anything like this.However I think it also depends on the label, whether they are fine with it or not. But gotta give it to them, who really has that much PATIENCE these days to wait for the best moment . Daft Punk produced this track brilliantly, anyone who's giving out saying their old music is better doesn't appreciate how intricate their mixing and mastering is.
I don't really agree with your opinion. Deadmau5 is good but he isn't a versatile artist compared to Daft Punk. Daft Punk manages to change their sound on almost every album and for the most part does it very well. Deadmau5 sticks with the old 4 on the floor beat pattern and doesn't really stray too far away from that. I'm not saying that's a bad thing at all, he does what he does and does it really well. But Daft Punk will forever and always be the kings of the Electronic genre.
