Actually the rebound indications make sense. + means more dampening and - means less dampening. The more dampening the slower the rebound for the same given weight
Are you sure tou have to add air to the other ? To both legs ? Or just one ? I have the Factory forks with the two black screws on each leg and under it there's valves.
