I kept watching thinking “this guy is playing up how tough he is” and then I realise that he’s a guy who volunteers to go and clear f**king minefields when he doesn’t have to and I realise there are people that badass and that he is one. Now I kinda feel bad for sitting on my sofa all day.
EDIT: FFS I’ve just got to the end and now he’s running marathons with one leg and one arm. Jesus Christ man you’re a beast.

All humans respond to strength, calm manner and integrity. Generally speaking - British soldiers have that in spades…. Plus a sense of humour.

Till this day, Cambodia is still living in turmoil due to a dictator ruler, Hun Sen..While watching this story. I am filled with anger, remembering the horrible stories my parents told me and my siblings what they went through. And, I couldn't believe even in the 90's there were still a good bit of Khmer Rouge soldiers left. Even after a decade when this nightmare started, these people still have to suffer with them still being around. The scars and nightmares that these people endured will never be lifted off. Makes me really appreciate my parents more that they have gone through tremendous hardships to give us a better life here in America..

We have helped them financially, even when we didn't have much. Till this day (I'm 34 now), still sending money to help them, because of the kids and due to covid crises which caused my cousins to lose their jobs not allowing them to feed their kids and the government isn't helping with anything like always. They only help feed their greedy asses. Long story short Sam Raimsey and Kem Sokha who were running against Hun Sen for the Prime Minister seat to build a democracy for Cambodia which in turn they were exiled and threatened. Very unfortunately, he is still the PM for over 35 yrs with his scumbag families. There are so much to say, but it seems with the world knowing this, nothing really changed.

Australia took in many of the Cambodian refugees. I ended up going to school with their children - they all had close family members who’d been slaughtered. It was so hard to believe that kind of hELL was going on just across the ocean. My daughter watched this with me & I told her I still have his book here - she’s going to read it. She just can’t believe the atrocities that went on so close to Australia. The kids from there told me everything that was going on - I’m so glad I met them but they later moved to Sydney & we all lost touch over the years.

He has given me some inspiration and the will power to think more positive as I have had a leg ulcer for 4 and a half years now and finally it seems it wants to heal and shrink in size. It has made me so depressed many times as we went on holiday to Florida a few times up to November 2019, which before covid, was the last time we visited there. I have a goal to reach and that is up to December 2021 ... This had to be the year after 23 infections, cellulitis, an infected foot etc, that It will heal and be gone for good I hope lol. I also have a condition which makes my legs, feet and ankles swell so much I cant get shoes on and I have to use my wheelchair when I go out with my husband. I am lucky as I have my best friend who lives with us to take care of me when my husband is at work as she is also my carer. I am so happy this guy lived through his kidnapping and the awful mine accident. He's so brave and that's what I want is to come to terms with my illness and to go out and succeed in my dreams of being a successful illustrator and portrait artist.

I don’t have words to describe how amazing this guy is! People frequently call me inspirational for doing every day tasks of living because I have a physical disability. It's Bs. Whenever I hear that going forward, I should send them this episode right here. Chris actually did things that warrant the label of an inspiration, and not because he lost part of his leg and arm. This guy endangered himself to go clear landmines in places the world forgets about. That in itself shows the depth of his conviction. Then he gets captured, and keeps his presence of mind the whole time. It was that presence of mind that spared his life and those of his colleagues. Very few people could handle such a terrifying ordeal the way he did. Chris and men like him are the truly inspirational peopleof this world.

Truly amazing guy! I really felt his words about level of discomfort and rising above it. I was always a very active person and alone all my live, sorting my sh*t out muyself and doing more than what was expected of me both at work (schools, colleges and IT) and in study (creating animal care projects for goups of students). For the last 6 years I've been living with chronic pain from back injuries from carrying too much sh*t on my back thoughout my life. I've been practically bedbound and am much weaker. Too weak to do simply things like make a meal or wash every day. It is a horrific thought that this is what has become of me and I see no hope for the future, especially as MRI has shown nothing when previous one in 2014 showed aa prolapsed disc. Chris Moon is the machine I want to be again, he is truly inspirational. I don't often have the energy to write comments, it is hurting to sit up. I just hope Mr Moon's words stay with me because my mantra was always 'One more step', 'Just make it to the next lamp-post' when I was drained from running, 'Just 10 more press-ups/sit-ups' and 'Push past the pain'. That last one is not always sensible, as at age 17 I damaged my back immensley by doing 'Just 10 more back-walk-overs' (like a back flip, but in slow motion) and forcing my 5ft 2" skinny (at the time) body to carry ridiculous amounts of stuff thinking i'm super-girl and not having anyone to help me. But right now, I think I have to get up, and push past this pain in order to exercise my back and makemy body stronger. I have had no motivation, or desire since losing 4 friends who have died tragically recently (well 2015-2016 and yet it does not feel like 5 or 6 years). I'm completely idle and ashamed. I wish I could find a purpose to live for and encouragement from friends but i'm alone. And here Chris Moon has always done so much, even after losing an arm and a leg, and he has given such good advice and hope so freely to us all. I just hope I can act on it and get clean tomorrow and go for a walk. I hope you guys can encourage me to, thank you in advance, and apologies for ramble x
