    I drove 2019 and 2023 Highlanders back to back. The interior on the '23 was just so nice. But you're righ tthat the turbo 4 is at its limit, and that's without passengers. You're right that it would be ok with a hybrid and the immediate torque on acceleration. If you swap out your vehicles after 3 years, its probably fine. If you want a big SUV for 15 years with few powertrain issues, find a v6 Highlander used, a Pilot or 4runner.

    Just bring the V6 back without the hybrid attached to it!! Very simple!

      That's what I said to the dealer when closing the Corolla LE sale. I would get Highlander again, but not with a mower engine farting turbo 😂

    The first time I drove a Toyota Highlander I have to say I was a little overwhelmed with all the technology and features it had I have always had pretty much the same tech setup in the last couple cars I have owned so driving one of these was a new experience 😅

      It could be an early production model with older software programming. I would insist that your Toyota dealer update the engine computer module software. I would also call Toyota headquarters directly and file a customer complaint - they will activate a case number to track this issue.

      That's the turbo lag for all the highlanders that are 2023 and newer. I got 2024 Limited 3 weeks ago and have the same issue.
      People say try premium glass or turn of auto on off feature, but those didn't really work for me. Guess should've went to a Pilot rather than highlander

    That green is like driving a Christmas tree year round. I have an older one that’s jade green and of course the V6, best vehicle I’ve ever owned. I’m waiting to see if this turbo engine has any issues and for them to change the exterior in 2025, don’t like the front at all!

    Bring back the V6! You have a 4 cylinder engine for such a large, heavy car which does not have the power. OR let people ORDER a highlander with a V6. You changed the engines for less emissions but you compromised power. PLUS Consumer Reports reported that you don't have the power to merge into traffic which is a hazard. Put the V6 back in.

    • @Bart-dg6qv
      @Bart-dg6qv Před 4 měsíci

      Cone on, 4 cylinder is almost as strong as V6. Only visibly weaker when you add the driver 😂

    • @user-yn4cn3el5q
      @user-yn4cn3el5q Před 4 měsíci

      This isn’t the 1990s anymore there bro. You’re living in the past. This 2.4 L four-cylinder engine was built from the ground up to be turbo charged so when it’s under full boost it is under the same amount of stress as a naturally aspirated V6.

      @user-es4zg7lm1x Před 4 měsíci

      @@user-yn4cn3el5q Shows how much you know. Check out Consumer Reports. People have even been returning these cars because of the 4 cylinder. Take your chances when you try to merge into traffic.

      @@Bart-dg6qv I'm in the same situation. I don't have an emergency just need a new car as our other two have 100k but still run well. Only people trying to sell you the cars praise the turbos but I've done to much research about the longevity of them. I don't want to spen 50k then have to do it again any year soon. This is why I'm now leaning to a Honda Pilot or Passport. Normally asperated v6 is still in those vehicles. I could care less about bells and whistles at this point in my life. Hopefully the Honda would be a good car. Seems like everything is crap anymore. What a dilema isn't it? I tried the selfsame lie as well. Genesis, all kinds of issues. Lexus, constant chime warning about everything and 4 cylinder turbo as well. The build a very quiet car, then put a noisy 4 cylinder in to it. Stupid!

    was thinking about trading my 2018 Highlander in for a 2024 but not now the 4 cly is weak, my 2018 295 hp V6 has the power it needs with 2024 loaded down with 4 people, luggage, and going over the hill on a hot day with air on, you will be at your limit. I'll seriously be looking at the new Bronco with the V6
