@@QcK0101 there is not so much better you goon. Maybe a couple and that would be personal preference but not so much. The LG and Samsung are the top Android phones as far as most selling flagships. The Motorola is powerful but not sold as much as the other two and I hate the Samsung ui/skin it sucks. LG was always better and easier to navigate and find settings. Motorola has the stock android and is the best interface. The Iphone just plain sucks. Was good until Android upped its game .

There lack of os updates is a bad thing that nearly every other manufacturer has started to step up and fix yet LG still dont.
No security apps can fix holes in a os level flaw. The Google security updates are very important!

And it will probably get no software support, just like the LG V20. LG V20 was an amazing device, and received ZERO software support. Literally did not get a single OS update its entire life. It is a complete shame. They make a great phone then leave it to rot, never getting any updates, literally killing the phones as they're left behind by basically every other phone company on the market.

The only problem with the LG phones is that they dont really do anything unique and their marketing sucks ass. However the G7 has wide angle camera, boombox speakers and quad dac audio.

Had my G7 for 6 weeks now and like it very very much. My last 3 phones have been the G5, S7 then Xperia XZ premium (sent back).
I went for the G7 mainly for its outstanding onboard audio quality but it has proved to also be excellent in every other area.
Bit puzzled as to why some have complained about the battery life, it lasts all day, every day for me no problem and I use the satnav extensively with my work.
The only negatives I have to say is that its a bit slippery and the battery is not 'plug and play' replaceable like in my old G5 (for when that time comes) but it probably wouldnt be splash/waterproof if it was... and I use a case for it anyhow, so a 100% happy (usually very fussy and skeptical) user here.
    A+ from me.. :)

LG is not underrated their right where they should be they don't deserve to be among the top smartphones because of certain things they don't do right. LG don't up there update their phones consistently the battery life on their phones of pure garbage, seriously LG why would you release the LG G7 and then give it a 3000mah battery that's so 2013-2015. My LG G6 which came out last year and is my back of phone has a 3300mah battery. Also I've been looking at reviews on the LGv40 and compared to other flagships the v40 battery life is less than Stellar also. I think the v40 only has the same capacity battery as my LG G6 why not put a 4000mah battery in it. It's little things like that that's keeping LG in the back seat and until they recognize that and start giving timely updates on their phones, they're going to be on the back burner where they belong. I've been an LG use I've had the LG G2 I still got my old LG G4 I had the LG V10 had the LG v20 I currently got the LGG6 as my backup phone but they don't deserve deserve to be on a pedestal. Look at what Huawei is accomplishing every time you turn around Huawei is releasing phones with huge batteries in screen fingerprint scanners the mate 20 Pro can be used as a battery pack to charge of the phones that's the stuff that LG should be doing not some no-name company like Huawei that came out of nowhere over the last 5-6 years.

I just bought this particular phone today, and so far I am liking it. I traded in my 4 year old LG Enact for it which has been a great phone for me in the past 4 years, and I would've still been using it today, but it got to where it would turn itself on and off without me knowing it. The only thing that I absolutely hate about this phone is the MicroSD card slot. I wish they would've stuck with the old push in-push out style instead of having to use a key to pop the tray out which holds the SIM card as well as the SD card. It can be a bear to get both cards to simply slide back into the phone. Other than that, I am impressed with it.

  • @TheCIScommander
    @TheCIScommander Před 6 lety +1

Two key features on this phone that you missed:
    1. The RGBW matrix screen. The RGBW subpixel arrangement offers two benefits over other subpixel arrangements. One is that the white point is purer than other phones, as when it's rendering white, it's literally rendering white, rather than red green and blue all really close together that looks like white. The second and probably most important part is that it gets way brighter while consuming the same amount of energy as a typical display, meaning that if you set the brightness to be the same on this device and another device, this screen would consume way less energy. LCDs are inherently inefficient at letting light through, and adding a white subpixel allows for a much more efficient display, especially when viewing white or gray content. You can save upwards of 50% on your battery life just from this enhancement alone. It's why the G7 gets way better battery life than its battery size would indicate.
    2. the HIFI quad DAC. The ES9218P DAC in the g7 is very well respected among the audio community. It offers quality that is actually pretty comparable to a stand alone DAC or audio interface that you would find for a computer. It offers excellent sound quality and can drive higher impedance headphones way easier than other smartphones. Not to mention that you don't need a bloody dongle to use wired headphones.
Other than those two omissions I thought it was a good review.

I've read tons of reviews only to find that there really isn't much disparity from one flagship phone to the next. Yes there on some intricate details and features here and there and that is likely all that is needed to influence ones decision.
For me personally it all came down to value. I had a offer from my provider where they were practically giving away the LG G7 ThinQ and that made it a no brainer to at least give it the 14-day trial. Needless to say I'm sold on the G7 and won't be looking back until upgrade time rolls around again. As long as the software and hardware components hold up I doubt I'll be having any qualms about my decision.
At full price, yes the G7 might not look the most attractive but at the heavy discount this phone is being offered by some providers at the moment, this phone packs a serious punch pound-for-pound!

What I like about LCD screens is that they don't end up with image burns like the so called flahship phones do because they have amoled or oled screens.. thanks LG for THINQ-ing on that.👍🏽👌🏽

I have a question and I think I would get many responses here: What is so wrong about LG UI? I don't find it bothering me at all since the age of LG G3, have been a big LG fan since then. I've used Samsung and the UI isn't that more impressive. Give me your thoughts

I think people just want stock Android. Especially reviewers who go from one phone to the next. But, as wrong as it may sound, I personally love the LG skin.

Most of the reviewers say this line because others are saying. I personally don't see any issue with LG UI. Its much better than MIUI and has more features than stock UI.

I don't know why most phone reviews does not include mainly outdoor photographs where you can see "the real life" usage. I'm interested in how the phone exposes scenes like grass and sky, if the sky is washed out and overexposed and things like that. I'm now going to make photos of the flowers in my home. Most people make photos in good conditions and I know people say almost every camera will make the photo good but the dynamic range is really good on very few phones

I switched providers, and traded in my iPhone 6s Plus. I got the G7 for $75 with the trade in. I was nervous about going back to droid, and switching from the iPhone... But this phone is superior by far, so far. My iPhone never ran out of battery, but the light this puts out, and the POWER of the speaker are phenomenal.

Which is the dumbest thing I've ever heard of because, correct me if i'm wrong but, I can't use a case and use the reader at the same time. Super frustrating. Thanks for the review so I know now.

It's working great the UI is smooth I've had no problems at all everything is fine. The camera is good too Lens works great. You can leave the apps open and there's no lag or delay. The screen is a beauty the sound is amazing!!! Good phone overall the battery is fine it never turns off on me and I use it pretty extensively. Gotta hand it to LG its amazing but the name is terrible. That's the only thing I hate.

less battery life means frequent charging which means shorter battery life or shorter phone life if you are not into changing in-built battery which may cost couple of hundreds bucks.
