  • Hey! Happy Thanksgiving!
Today (well, actually 10 days ago) we're repairing my friend's Makita DML801 work light. It's an excellent product, but this one has been in *constant* use since it was purchased, and eventually the poor switch gave out.
Here are the parts I used (non-affiliate link!):
    *Rubber switch cover: www.mmtoolparts.com/store/mak...
    *Main Circuit Assembly: www.mmtoolparts.com/store/mak...
I would've loved to just buy the switch, but I wanted to make sure to get a part that would work. Please comment if you know what PN the switch is.
It's ~11.5mm wide, ~11.5mm deep, 6mm tall (body), and has an RL with a circle around it on the bottom. I suspect it wouldn't be hard to find on Mouser/Digikey if you had more experience with their search, though I couldn't find it. If I fix another I'll try to dig around more for this.
    Thanks for watching!

thanks for the video, why did you de solder/ solder the power switch pins? is the main circuit board assembly not a direct replacement?

Hey there, just seemed like it would save some effort to only desolder/resolder 3 solid pins vs the 6 wire points to swap out the board. Unfortunate that Makita choses to solder everything instead of provide connectors for the circuit board.
