For questiom 30, how'd he know to double the difference
The distance from the max to the min is equal to the distance from the min to the max on a sinusoidal wave. Since we are looking for the period which is the distance from the max to the next max or the min to the next min, we can just double the distance from the max to the min (or vice versa).
