I love all of the Fox Rage videos they are very helpful, I am trying to get to grips with dropshoting and jig fishing at the moment No luck so far. The point i want to raise is that being a nerd and that fact the title is 'the science behind jig fishing" I should point out that have made an incorrect statement when you say a 5g jig will get to the bottom quicker than a 3g jig. Aristotle made the same mistake but Galileo reasoned that they would both reach the bottom at the same time. Newton's second law of motion shows that this is true. The simplified second law states that force is equal to the mass times acceleration F=Ma from which we can show that the acceleration of the jig will be a=F/M but we know that F is Ma so Ma/M=a which is the acceleration g due to gravity. They will both hit the bottom the same time and since the lure used is the same they will both have the same terminal velocity.
I love the videos they are a great resource for all anglers young and old, I should know I am in my seventies.

Hi Ben, always enjoy the videos and learn a lot from them. If you were going to choose just 2 rods to cover most spinning/dropshot/jigging tactics, one for perch and one for pike what would they be please? Thanks, eliot

Just getting into my jig fishing and wondering where I'm going wrong as I seem to be on the right track with my set up.. it's my casting as I never seem to get a tight line.. I'm guessing I'm trying to put to much into my casts so next time out I know what I need to work on

Thank you for the comment, yes the USA is an amazing place to fish. Hopefully these tips show people there's a bit more to lure fishing than just casting and retrieving, and get them to think about some of the many variables! All the best.
