After playing basketball for years, I’m now focusing on become a coach. In fact, I’m interviewing for the job within the hour. If hired, I’ll be coaching with zero experience. With that in mind, I desperately need to study as much as possible before I feel capable of being a head coach. This video was the first one I came across, and I just wanted to thank you for posting this. So much great information! I love your attention to detail on every single play. If I land that coaching position, I’ll have to give you a shoutout. A moments away from this interview with my nerves at a 10, this 12 minute video honestly made me feel completely ready for thins interviewing. Thanks again!
How refreshing it was to see this video. I have looked and looked for drills for my little youth team & these really helped. So many of the other videos aren't done too well. I'll have to tweak them for their age group but the video was to the point & no wasted time showing the drills. For anybody making videos this is how it's done. Thank you guys for making this and in the manner in which you made it. EXCELLENT! I just wish people would post more drills for like 6 and 7 year olds on here.
I used this for my third grade boys team and it works really well! Thanks a lot! We actually beat the first place team with some of these plays. Definitely recommend them.
This is on e of the most complete drill videos I have seen on the internet. We do some of these drills already but I saw some points I need to emphasize more in my practices.
Thanks so much. I specially like the screen for the screener. I could never understand it until I saw your video. Great video. Also, like your different versions of the motion offense. Great!!! I've seen all of these work in games.
this is prob the best video i've watched on You Tube.... im giving a clinic tomorrow for a Jr high in Japan tomorrow... i will be using a number of these
Thanks alot for this video. We started using it with our 6th grade girls team and they are starting to pick it up already and using this in the game! jeremy vedder
Some of this is really good as a middle school coach I am always looking for simple thing.....that can be put into place with little confusion on the players part.....I will use some of this
This helps me cause I'm on a basketball team and I need to know what to do and I need to get better and better when I have the chance with my mom and dad and aunts for the next few months so when I get to the games I will get better with the rest of the team
Solid video.. Appreciate this, as I just started coaching a middle school AAU team... But two questions: Why in the hell is the up n under move called the Dominque, and not the Mchale , as in Kevin??🤔
In the inbound plays the passer should "get in the game" immediately after passing instead of standing out of bounds like in many of your drills. It's best to go to the offside to get a rebound.
The Cincinnati base offense is referred to as being "for 3rd through 5th grade." How well would it work for older kids (say 8th grade)? What would you recommend instead as a base offense for 8th graders?
Excellent set of drills. I coach 3rd and 4th grades and some of the offense movement drills may be too complicated for them. Nevertheless still excellent
I am a former player, but new coach in 4-on-4, 5-6 year old youth basketball. The 1st half of this video is exactly what I think I need to teach kids of this age. If you know of any good videos specifically for that 5-7 year old segment, I would appreciate a link!
travel on just about evry move ; not stressed in practice carries to games Jump to ball to establish pivot foot , robotic diplay of simple drills Coach Bill Hill
On the 4on4 shell drill, you shouldn't do what the defense did. You should always stay between your man and the basket. What if one of the guys down low made a cut around their guy, got the moving pass, and made the simple layup?
Coach, when teaching one pass away never swivel your head. You cannot take you eye off the ball or your man. You must see both in your peripheral vision. If you do not, when you are looking at the ball, your man cuts. If you are looking at your man, you cannot help.

The Cincinnati base offense...vs man or zone?
great!!!
Im just starting coaching i like a lot of these drills. 1 question, on the screen away drills where do the 4 and 5 postions go?
awesome
superb
On the 4on4 shell drill, you shouldn't do what the defense did. You should always stay between your man and the basket. What if one of the guys down low made a cut around their guy, got the moving pass, and made the simple layup?
Is there any other name for the Carolina Zone Offense at 6:50 ?
Coach, when teaching one pass away never swivel your head. You cannot take you eye off the ball or your man. You must see both in your peripheral vision. If you do not, when you are looking at the ball, your man cuts. If you are looking at your man, you cannot help.
i would really like to see them play :)
