For everyone remembering Pikachu wrong, it's cause of unofficial cards. To avoid copyright, they had to change it a bit, so that's why you remeber it with a black tail end, since it does, but unofficially.

To be fair, the whole point of the Mandela effect is that you remember things that were never actually there, so all you have to do is choose the option missing something

Not always, Mandela effect is just a communal/cultural misremembering and csn be either way people forgetting somthing was there aswell as thinking something was different such as the colour or what side somthing was/direction its facing.

For the Pikachu one with the black tail there is one acception. In Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire there is an event Female Pikachu with a black heart on its tail. So technically Pikachu does have black on its tail.
In the Japanese airing of the show, Pikachu had black on his tail for the first 2 episodes of Black and White. Then being edited out before it was dubbed for America.
And in mewtwo strikes back the genetically created Pikachu has a black stripe
