Welcome to the fourteenth episode of the Real-World Business Switch Network Build! In today's episode, we're getting an understanding of STP (Spanning Tree Protocol), and learning how to configure it like a PRO!
This includes:
- A brief review of Spanning Tree concept
- An idea of what you should configure within STP
- What you should document
- A practical exercise to test your knowledge of this episode!
In this series, we continue where we left off in my 'Real-World Cabling' series, and continue on to building and installing a business switch network.

still love the old fashion Jeremy's style of teaching. 🙂🙂🙂
Wow! The best spanning tree tutorial I have ever seen. Thank you so much. This is worth a semester of school.
This guy is 100X better than anyone else in the networking field !
yea he is. This is how I got my cert. almost 10 years now.
I just hit the STP chapter in the revision guide I got, so this is perfect timing! Best delivery of any trainer out there!
@24:28 Yes J "talking too much" but this is the best explaining on spanning-tree ever for me. Thanks man
Just awesome as always, Jeremy rocks!
Oh the stories I have about faulty spanning tree. I have always used Jeremy's suggestions.
Your videos are awesome Jeremy. Thanks for everything you do.
Thank you Mr J-man. Delivery spot on as usual.
Awesome video Jeremy as always. I really like these kind of real world scenarios videos you've been doing recently. But.. I would really like it if you could configure everything using the CLI instead of the GUI. It just feel more "real". I can of course understand that it will probably take more time but I still prefer doing commands rather than using GUI.
Thanks for everything you do, keep up doing awesome content as you always do!
Yep - I bounce between both to reach a wider audience.
Ah, good thing they updated the port costs to match current link speeds. Now the new port cost table will last forever since we'll never have speeds faster than they currently are now. Those people in the past were so short sighted, I'm happy to see that the current engineers have fixed the system the right way instead of just offloading the problem to future generations. In case you can't tell, I am being sarcastic.
