Hard to believe I have listened to this group since discovering them in the mid 80s when I was in the Air Force. It has been over 36 years and I still listen to them on my long runs. It is like therapy and peace each and every time. This music is a life long friend.
The recording studio version had a wonderful female vocal track that spoke out in Russian dialect I believe, "Africa... Asia... Europa... Australia... America... " It really made the song!!

I used to listen to it with headphones and she was right in my head I used to wonder what she looked like and years later I saw her in a concert and she was better than I imagined
I actually find this version listenable, but it's still a far cry from the magic of the original version on the Exit album. I think the big issue is that while the Tangs were far ahead of their time back then, eventually time caught up with them, making it near impossible to keep pressing sonic boundaries like they'd done before.
I fully agree. I think the main problem with this performance is that Chris Franke and Johannes Schmoelling were no longer here... And there was nobody able to replace them... TD had gone through several bad changes. This was another time, much years later, Edgar was looking too tired and probably already sick ( he was too slim here, and looking weak, that's easy to see on this video ). But even so the sax solo in the end by Linda Spa was very good and added something new to this weak performance.
One of my all time faves. But TD only needs three musicians-two synths, and Edgar on synth and guitar. The percussion can be sequenced, and the violinist that played with them last tour was superfluous. Cute, yes, but inaudible.
The New line up TD has returned to the essential TD of the 70s and 80s. As much as I miss Chris and Pete and Johannes, time moves on. The new line up is exciting, I for one can't wait to see them live. Edgar we miss you, we love you and we thank you.
Great song, no question. But the original version from "Exit" (1981) was way more cooler in my opinion. A good example that more modern equipment doesn't necessarily leads to better music. And where's the russian speaking woman ? TD have left their best time behind in my opinion.
De nada. Ahí te va otro detalle: continuó su carrera como solista y tiene un proyecto que se llama "Loom" el cuál realizo junto con Johannes Schmoelling. No lo he escuchado aún pero dicen que es muy bueno. Sólo por si no sabías.
Such a versatile and class act . I enjoy hearing a variety of instruments in these live songs . TD has mastered adding a bit more to the music rather than playing note for note like off of a record . Big COOL to this one .
actually that is how it appeared on the original LP, but it was a typo, and it really should have been KIEV. I read an interview with EF 1981 ish where he mentioned this.
Think perhaps a change of personnel on the percussion wouldve helped she was too full of herself for my liking but Edgar's music 🎶 will be forever my favourite
TDs classic era was 1980-1990 prior to that they were a tad too experimental sounding and after 1990 the cds were just not good. 🤷♂️🎉 the current lineup has nothing to do with TD.
Totally agree LOGOS and EXIT to me is the real TD sound they became a group that did more quantity than any quality soon after. This version totally sucked...
2008 2009 i worked call trader for casablanca call centers B2S ok phone quorus marketing ...B2S 2010 ... Smw international enjoy reading listening....jelly
The lady plays in a most bouncy fashion; compare this to the old films of Froese, Franke, and Baumann or Schmoeling-they hardly move, and they certainly don't bounce. The sax ruined the song, and the happy chick drumming sucks. Edgar should have retired the name Tangerine Dream. Sad that Froese and Franke never reconciled!
I have listened to them since Rubicon came out ? They vertully started the electronic music side but Edgar wanted to bring more of the human eliment into the music ! Let's face it you only have to push a button and it will play a major piece of music

Thank you Edgar Froese(1944-2015) for all the great music. You will be missed.
Yes, Edgard, your Kiew mission...

Thanks so much for posting. Lucky people to have witnessed this live. RIP Edgar.
I would ask for your money back for such a lame and boring performance.
Can I cry for this?????????????????????????????????????????????
Edgar Froese is sorely missed! Tangerine Dream is such an inspiration in my music compositions!
Beautiful and spine chillingly awesome at the same time!

Think i preferred when all instruments were electronic!

Not sure what to think of the random sax player...

I am here… Азия, Африка, Европа….. это Земля
Listen to "Quantum Gate" (2017) and "Raum" (2022)
Nice, but spoilt by the sax playing.

again and again: "I love it so much!"...Kiew Mission 1&2....and all the boys 'n girls ...& Old Chief
Asia, Africa, Australia, Europa, America. Top. RIP EDGAR.
Good, but not the same without those distinctive custom sounds from Edgar’s old PPG wave synth.
I think they're using some wave synth or perhaps PPG samples.
The old version is way better :/
Damn it-- NO sax, no real drums--no cowbell.....ALL PPG, ALL THE TIME!!! PPG PRIDE!!!
Grandiosos 🥳
Bravo! Super!
The Greatest
Kiev Mission a classic TD track....Great - was there and enjoyed very much - good luck to the Ukrania people! They need support!
Jesus, do they ever!
Just spotted myself on the front row at 0:06. Cool.
Amazing! Thanks ! Слава УКРАЇНІ ! 🇺🇦

Excuse me, is it Foreigner ?
SAX IS NOT NEEDED
Too true mate
It's Kiew Mission not kiev

Dejó la banda desde 2006.

Not same sound of the original machines in 1981
that bloody sax/ clarinet...get rid of it!
The music reminds me a lot of an awesome electronic music band, Tangerine dream, that's it.
Bloody right, shove it up her arse. This era should be called the James Last period, they murdered the original successfully.

Poutin's favorite song ! lol !
Nope. His favourite is Boney M ‘s Rasputin
Windham Hill presents Tangerine Dream! Gag, this was awful.

Not much moshing going on in the audience...
No, the drummer chick is doing all the moshing
Sounds like a bad cabaret bands cover version.
Hülye!😠
Watered down tangerine dream.

Bullshit. Push a button on my synth and all you get is a buz or a bleep.
