The universe is God's work of art. God as an artist, created us humans in His own image. God made us to improve the world and prosper. God made us as living art that can create new art. Humans are art and artists as well. That's how wonderfully God made us. He gave us free will. However, humans used this free will to turn against God and sin. Our sins moved us away from God. Sin corrupted the beauty that God created.
God is the basis of morality and justice. A just judge cannot let a crime go unpunished. Similarly, God cannot let sin go unpunished. All of us have sinned and are doomed to eternal punishment (Hell). The Bible says that death is our call to God's judgement.
However, God loves us unconditionally. Just as the loss of a child brings sorrow to a father, a lost soul brings grief to God.
So, God came to this world as a human (Jesus Christ) and gave his life on the Cross to pay the penalty for our sins. In this way, anyone who believes that Jesus died for their sins, such a person's sins are cleared.
So, to be saved, one has to repent of their sins and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, who died for our sins on the Cross and was resurrected on the third day, defeating death and sin.
Such a person can enter God's kingdom (Heaven) to have everlasting life. Here on Earth, God would also transform the person's heart that hates sin and loves to do good. God provides His holy spirit to such a person.
Major religions have been trying to restore our relationship with God, which is commendable. Our heart yearns to find its creator. But Jesus Christ showed us the true way to God.
When we leave this world, we leave everything behind, be it our fame, legacy, money or assets. Jesus said, "What shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his own soul?".
I hope you reconsider your relationship with God and find salvation through Jesus Christ.
