The pipe machinegun is probably my favorite gun model. It just screams gritty, rugged, scrap gun design like something out of Metro. I also adore how the charging handle is just a screwdriver.
Imo the pipe pistol does that. With just how much effort they need to get the casings OUT and to even close the damn thing screams “please dont blow up when fired”

Everything about the revolver reload animation just proves that people just don't understand how revolvers work.
The only thing I'm genuinely confused with is why do some animators think spinning the cylinder will help anything? It doesn't cock it, now for the ejection and "flicking the crane", I can understand just a little, but the cylinder spin is simply common sense not to do.

@@Oyebadumn adds flair to the reload, gives players are more statisfying feel when the gun is reloaded. Kinda like when games do the hk slap, while it is a irl practice done with hk firearms, its mostly done in videogames to make the reload look more cool

I like the Reload animation for the Pipe Pistol, for when you unload it some shells get stuck in the ammo cylinder, and then you smack it so the rest of the shells come out.

All these reloads feel unnecessarily aggressive.
I think the idea here is that 1. They are crudely made and maintained so a lot of things are stiff and need extra force to work and 2. are perhaps meant to convey the panicked urgency of a civilian trying to load their gun as a horde of undead is bearing down on them. Also perhaps 3. when that horde is bearing down the movements being strong and clear communicate the player clearly what part of the reload they are on, and give them a better "feeling" feedback about why things are taking so long by exagerrating the individual movements.
They look like hand made animations. It's a difficult thing to do. Besides, the animators don't seem to care about doing a good job anyway.

My biggest issue about this game is the fact that there's no option for viewmodel FOV, every gun is nauseatingly close to the view and takes up 90% of the screen.
It's been in development for 7 years.... how is this not an option now
If they'll focus more on adding more IRL/quol features it'll probably be already implemented to the game, meanwhile zombinos in 7 days to die from braindead/braindamaged creatures transform into engineering people that know EXACTLY where you are or which block to destroy first to collapse/seriously damage your structure, which of course take more time and don't forget about changes to game engine itself aaaand don't forget when FUN(especially this days of *ha tfu* "gaming") is detected in developers ears and eyes be ready they'll revamp/delete forever your favourite feature which you guest it already, it'll take time + resources and redoing some systems this game already have, I can go on and go on because I'm playing this game from alpha 14 but completely stopped in A15,A16 and played long playthrought in a17/beginning of a18 but a19 and a20 is untouched.
You havent seen payday default fov, it makes me feel like im gonna pass out, thankfully theres a fov slider option
The fact that this is a problem for you shows me that old tricks used for some tactical gain become overused and overrated but I might be overreacting because I don’t see fov as useful or important in any wat

Yeah... The only reason they haven't done that is because the Fun Pimps(the devs) don't know how to work on the console versions and they left the console versions to telltale. BUT they have said that they will get on it AFTER the game "goes gold"

New alpha 20 animations look a lot cleaner and smoother. I can't say the same for the rest of the weapons.

There are some games that include the detail, whether it's just the sound or ones where you actually need to keep magazines, but it is rare to see.

Why do these guns look so HD and refined? I don't recall them looking this good? I wish the devs would update this game.. it's such an amazing concept but holy fuck they are so slow with updates the engine feels like a broke down car ready to crash at any moment.. I honestly don't know how it's this unoptimized after a decade

The iron sights bother me.
1. They are not lined up properly especially the AK. The front sight isn't lined up with the back WTH!?
2. The front sights are too big especially on the revolver. I am in constant fear that if I run too fast, the front sight might give me enough lift to take off and achieve flight.
I love the game but I miss a lot of the old models.

What was the weapon like anyway since I started playing on A20 and introduced in kinda op pipe weaponry like having a pipe assault rifle and few 7.62 bullets then go ham on some zombies feels a bit cheap with no drawback besides clip count. they should at least make the gun have the chance to overheat if you shoot it too long and have to replace it with another pipe.

Hehe 1:12 the mag doesn’t even fall out for the assault rifle of some sort, and 1:08 where the sniper doesn’t even have a bolt catch.
1:12 mag animation was removed from the game and plus it’s not even a assault rifle, it’s a marksman rifle.

Well telltale games went bankrupt so it was left untouched for quite a while, then the original developers got it back and have been updating it on PC. But not console. So yeah, there was like a 3 or 4 year gap between alpha 17 and alpha 18 I believe, because of this reason.
But they have been updating it on PC, I believe alpha 21 is almost finished

That hunting rifle needs a sound rework I mean even after all the updates all the other redesigns got sound reworks the hunting rifle just sounds bad in its reloads.

Some reloading fit pretty well and look good while other kind of sound and look like ass, maybe because of different animators and sound designers. (with the chance of there being none.)
Regardless it doesn't excuse the awful inconsistency and again, how terrible some look and sound, with the time it has been on development this should have been fixed almost a decade ago.
Also how is it that this game released on 2013 and IT'S STILL ON EARLY ACCESS?
