  • Vuoi capire le notizie in italiano? Would you like to understand the news in Italian? Welcome to our EASY ITALIAN NEWS! Benvenuti al nostro TELEGIORNALE FACILE! These are today's news stories: two Michelin-starred restaurants face to face in the same village in Emilia; a scientific study on cats and tuna; the invasion of the blue crab in the Adriatic sea. Read the headlines with me and learn new words and expressions. Look for similarities with English: formal speech is often easier to understand than colloquial Italian.

thank you my teacher for your reply.your channel will improve my italian.you are very right that we should not be tempted to translate word for word but l request you teacher to give us time to digest the correct version of Italian translation you are giving us before you go to the next sentence.this is because the Italian translation will still sound strange to a learner but the learner will finally come to get it.but your speed of translation is okay with those people who already know both Italian and English very well.as those who are good in both languages move with you to the NEXT sentence at that pace,we learners who are only fluent in English still remain behind in the PREVIOUS sentence trying to understand that version of Italian which is still new to them yet sounds normal to a category of your listeners who are fluent in both languages as you are.with them they will be with you on the the same page due to their familiarity with both languages of English and italian.please do something to slow down a bit.l like your your style of exposing me to wide range of Italian sentences for now l know crabs in Italian which I didn't know before, rovinare which means to ruin.this channel is very rich in content l like it for that.grazie mille.

Grazie! I’m glad you found the lesson useful! My necklace is not a particular brand, it’s a silver necklace open at the back where I simply put the pendant that best suits my mood of the day. I buy my pendants in a nice shop here in Verona (Ethnica in Via Cattaneo), they have also an online shop. :)

This would be much better without any English. Why is it that so many authors of language courses speak in English? The audience watching the video is not only English-speaking people. And using Italian 100% would be much better for learning purposes, without the constant distraction of the translations.

We have over 200 videos on this channel and many of them are all in Italian, including most of our Learn Italian with the News videos. Why do you mind so much that we also make easier videos for beginners? Not everybody is at the same level - actually most people have a very limited knowledge of Italian and they benefit from explanations in English!

l am an Englishman learning Italian. l appreciate the work you are doing. my problem with you is that your translations are too fast for a learner to digest and before a learner understands this sentence you are already in the next sentence. your English translations are not following the same order or sequence in which the Italian sentence was arranged. please dissect sentence by sentence for a learner to grasp before you proceed to the next sentence. to understand what l am saying l beg you to watch the "french listening practice by madam Alexa" and see how on the third stage, after a student learning french has listened to the video twice, madam Alexa starts to dissect each and every sentence at a pace that a french learner can understand. You could use her technique to translate Italian to us.For example if the Italian version says "Devo andare a casa perche MiO figlio e' malato".if you translate that sentence starting with "My child is sick l must go home" the learner will get confused because you have altered the sentence structure and order in your translation as opposed to the original Italian sentence you were translating from which started with "Devo andare a casa,perche............." l like your approach of making me listen to news it exposes a learner to lots of vocabulary. grazie.

Hi Moses, I understand what you mean, but if I do that then someone else would complain that nobody talks like that in English - and rightly so. We must learn from the beginning to resist the temptation of translating sentences word by word, because English and Italian are quite different. The language of the news is not easy, but there are more basic lessons on my channel - have a look at this playlist: bit.ly/MIC-Grammar-Playlist
