  • If you get stickdrift you can swap the modules on the Eswap X and the newer (and cheaper) Eswap S. The X is a 4 rear button, and the S is a 2 rear button but the controllers share almost all other components and software program. Let's compare these controllers on a multitude of categories and find out if the newer and cheaper entry is the king or the OG still rocking a Micro USB port.

Thanks for doing this video! I've had the X for a while and one thing that's neat to do with the Fighting pack modules(disc d-pad and two extra button modules) is to approximate a Saturn 3D analog pad. Or swap the stick and pad position for an N64 layout. Not the cheapest way to go about it, but it works pretty well.

  • @Adam-pk7go
    @Adam-pk7go Před rokem +19

I'm pretty sure the X is intended to be a 2 finger (as in only middle fingers) design for the back buttons, and it's fairly comfortable that way.

Grabbed the "Amazon Exclusive" edition of the eSwap S over the weekend. Same as the standard aside for the orange led stick modules from what I can tell. Got the sucker for $40. Don't know if it was a pricing mistake or what as the price has since shot back up, but I'm really happy with it. This thing is better than any first party controller I've owned. Heck of a difference from this old Xbox One controller I've been using. Man 3rd party controllers have come a long way since the N64 days 😂
Edit: Also debating picking up the racing wheel module. 🤔

I use the S for Rocket League, she was on sale for 80$ and absolutely love it. Sometimes the modules can be buggy but typically an easy fix. The modules alone make it my go to for how hard RL can be on joysticks. RIP my Elite 2…

@@samgoff5289 They've got their own problems. My 8bitdo Ultimate bluetooth controller has it's outer range slowly shrink while you play, so for Rocket League I eventually lose the ability to flip cancel forward which kills my half flip, then it progresses flip cancels downward as well. It doesn't take more than a match for this to start so re calibrating is not a real solution as you'd need to do so mid game. Software solutions such as shrinking the outer ring doesn't fix it either, it eventually still gets there AND it makes your left right axis sensitivity more than your Y axis which just throws everything off.

I have been using the eswap x pro for awhile now. Got rid of the elite 2, razer wolverines, etc. eswap x customization and the ability to get new thumb sticks every few months is the game changer. I play on pc so wired is no problem. The travel on the triggers is relatively short. I play a lot of racing games so look for an accessory pack that has long triggers like they are extended so that you can use your middle finger on the trigger as I do. The rear buttons take some getting use to and I only use my ring finger on them. The primary ones are the one you mentioned that has a molded scoop to them. The smaller flatter ones are harder to get to. Thank you for the video!

I play a lot of racing games and I agree the triggers are too short for accurate braking. I keep locking up my tires with ABS off. My gas button (RT) just stops working in the middle of rocket league matches. My right analog stick wobbles from low dead zone while my left one is fine so I have to remove my second thumb stick of raise controller dead zone. The whole reason I bought this controller was to have accurate thumbsticks at low deadzone (0.05-0.07)

That's important to note that ps version isn't actually the same. It doesn't allow you to adjust your triggers, it has only two buttons near the 3,5 jack, the triggers are of different shape, side panels are rubberized and most importantly there are standard sticks, not the nxg ones. I actually bought ps version and blue led custom kit with plastic panels and higher nxg sticks, so there are no problems for me because it was still cheaper than buying x version, but it really is an important information for anyone who wants to buy eswap pro. I love the rear buttons design though, it's perfect for me.

I have the eswap x pro and it's great. I got it over the s pro because it has 4 back buttons. I agree with you the back buttons are pretty bad but using just my middle fingers for the buttons are more comfortable than trying to cover all 4 buttons at once. 2 year warranty is unheard of and greatly appreciated for a pro controller. The sticks feel way better than a stock xbox controller and the buttons feel amazing. My only complaint is that thrustmaster doesn't sell replacement cables which I find very strange. The recessed port inside the controller and the track built into the cable keeps a nice secure connection and I'd rather not use a regular micro usb cable because it can wiggle inside the port and make it loose over time unlike the included controller cable.
Edit: Do you know if the warranty is renewable each time you activate it? If so then how much is it?

Any controller software should be compatible with iOS or android. Not everyone has a pc next to their console. Trying out custom layout adjustments becomes a pain running from room to room. Obviously a wired controller is difficult to plug into a phone but it does make for a butter smooth on the fly setup. 8bitdo has it down.

I have gone through 4 eSwap X's so far. Always end up with random stick inputs. Swapping modules did not fix it. New modules didn't fix it. Thrustmaster support didn't help. Switched to the Scuf Instinct Pro and am enjoying it so far. eSwap was the best feeling for shooters for me. But after 4 of them developed the same issue I can't stay with it.

I really wanted to like the x. I loved the rumble, the feel of the sticks, and the larger size. However the triggers are so terrible it ruins the immersion of some games for me. And then the thumb sticks started to unscrew *while* I was playing. The first time was annoying. After it happened the fifth time, I returned it.

    • @yercules

The sticks don't have a screw at all, the thumbstick is encased in the module; you'd have to open it to remove the plastic cap from the thumbstick. That being said, the thumbsticks without a coloured ring can be rma'd, you get the better nxg sticks for free.

am i the only one who cant overclock it like you? if i set it to 500/1000, the averages are 3,0ms, every first input is 1,9ms, every second is 3,999ms, so about 3ms, and you can scip the first big one if you rorate your sticks BEFORE you open the xinput test, because as soon as you open it, the timer counts, if you do it properly you will get a polling rate of real 500hz (2ms average), but for me its only 3ms, because every second input is 4ms, i tested every USB port in my PC, i updated the firmware, im on intel 12th gen and windows 11, i dont know why... but anyway i cant even feel a difference now to my 1000hz dualsense, but i feel definetly a difference between a stock 125hz xbox controller with 8ms delay, they must have upgraded the PCB in the newest eswap S/X, i got mine in summer 2022, and like i said, 3ms is the max average i can get, but both of your controllers can get about 2ms averages

I think with the amount of controllers you have now, an ergonomics and features video should exist. Best shell design overall, best per platform, best rear button implementations, best extra features, etc., along with an overview of it all, like why Razer's rear button design is horrible, why buttons resting under your fingers are better, why alternative designs (like eXtremeRate's Rise packs) do or don't work, extra shoulders vs extra face vs rear buttons, etc., along with stick designs, placements of sticks and buttons relative to each other (Xbox swap layout vs PS normal layout), button sizes and shapes (domed, flat, concave if those even exist) in general, various dpad implementations (different cross, wheel, and wave designs), different bumper and trigger designs, etc. then features like trigger stops and their various implementations, and various haptic implementations, etc., and textures, materials, weights, and overall feel would be another good set of topics; even include older controllers while you're at it, for example how the Duke, Dreamcast, and N64 had offset non-shoulder triggers that're more on the rear of the controller, 6 button layouts, etc., or include oddball niche controllers like the Steam Controller and Flydigi Apex 2 for feature shoutouts and your opinions on additional features in a general sense (if they work in their original implementation, if they could work with some iteration, etc.). Rather than hours and hours of separate reviews, a more concise overview of ergonomics, features, and designs would be nice, plus this gives an opportunity to shine the spotlight on controllers that otherwise don't really get much review attention; as someone who is actually interested in eventually developing a controller, this kind of repository of information would be a treasure trove given how vast your collection is. Just a mega list of what works, what doesn't work, what could work with improvement, along with comparisons, while touching all the bases of various design aspects and features, would be amazing; plus an opinion on an ideal controller, even if certain aspects have yet to exist.

Each segment ends with an 'etc.' and there's really no good way to format segmented lists like this, as each one doesn't fit as a full sentence and using full stops between each segment makes it look just as messy. The typing also follows how the segmented list would be spoken anyways, so it is in fact fairly easy to follow. Again, maybe you're just mentally deficient and can't handle anything longer than a sentence. At least they understand basic punctuation whereas you seemingly don't.

Thrustmaster is a awesome concept and it should be a go to design and controller but that being said thrustmaster eswap controllers are a scam... they all have input problems, after a short period double inputs will show up on multiple buttons, its like they did that in software so it just breaks faster, bumpers will break the connection from the casing that is around the connector, and ofc last but not least sticks are getting drift and missinputs or double inputs wayyy too fast and at the end you spend more on sticks then just changing some cheaper controller every now and then.... overall complete scam, support is not existing, they are assholes about any contact and anything so yea i dont suggest buying it. All that is comming from a person using third thrustmaster controller so i know...
