32 years old, leading the league in minutes, averaging career high in rebound and assists, 6 straight NBA finals, Cavs are the oldest roster in the NBA, most talked about and most known athlete in the world, his life is under a microscope. He has all the pressure by the media and the haters to either win or bust. Lebron's finals losses is a stain on his legacy. He does not want to lose any more. He does not want him or his teammates to risk an injury or tire themselves out right before the playoffs. But yet still gets hated on because he rests 6 out of 82 games. 6 games that are pointless. His mind is on a championship, not on regular season games that mean nothing. It's the media's and fans fault for putting unnecessary pressure on players to win a ring. as if rings determine how great of a player you are when PLENTY of All-Time greats have never won a ring. Especially in today's social media, these NBA players feel the pressure to desperately win a ring. Why do you think Kevin Durant went to the warriors? Why do you think Lebron is recruiting lots of players? Talking to Lebron haters is like talking to a brick wall. They never listen, they already have their mind set on hating him no matter what he does. Don't take em serious.

These NBA players are just cupcakes. Stockton played 19 years and NEVER took a game off to "rest." This generation of NBA players have the best nutritionist/conditioning programs/ medical advances in NBA history. They have a longer all-star break, fewer back to backs, they fly on chartered planes and stay at 5 star hotels with catered meals. Yet, everyone is so tired while making the highest salaries in NBA history. Not to mention, they are playing in the least physical era in the last 20 years. I like Lebron but he's played in a watered down Eastern Conference most his career and has played on stacked teams the last 6-7 seasons. So, there is no reason for him to be that tired.

No, he does not deserve to rest. He is a basketball player! He is getting paid to PLAY basketball. Just because one is great at his craft, does not excuse him from his daily obligations. There can be arguments claiming that his rest can be depicted as a reward/compensation for his accomplishments. That's where the endorsements and the high level of salary come in to play. You are given a higher salary because of your achievements. You get endorsements and millions of dollars outside of your salary because of your achievements. These are the rewards and just compensations for being great, not resting. Playing in the NBA is a privilege. Players should always realize this and not take their positions on the court for granted. There are thousands of players that dream of stepping on to the court to play for an NBA organization. Just because you were blessed with better genes and circumstances, does not give you the right to negate obligations that certain people would die for. If you need rest, play fewer minutes, play a different style for one or two games, or skip a home game or two that is not nationally televised. Think Kobe said it best, "you have all the time to rest when you retire, so why rest now."

I think Lebron should play every game when available, I can understand he warranted some rest but no one is saying to play 35-48 minutes a game, he can literally play 15-20 or 20-25. People should be rewarded to see them play if they are paying for the tickets. The fans are the reason sports are relevant and these athletes are making the money they are. Athletes can't live and so cant franchises if fans are not interested at all.
I dont care if Lebron plays the most games and most minutes, we can look at other sports such as soccer where for example, Messi and Ronaldo play on average 60-65 games a season, not including international games, and these two are rarely ever subbed off. Not only that, they do far more travelling than NBA teams do. If you are a high level athlete such as the likes of Lebron, Messi, Ronaldo and whoever else is a superstar in their sport, then you must play.
