    Eric has had many guests in his videos. All of them deliver critical skill to hit golf balls properly. However, if you are an average player, the videos sometimes are hard to comprehend mainly because of our inability to do what are needed for delivering good golf swings. Not the messages but personal athletically ability and time/effort are involved. But after repeated tries and reviews, once you get the main points and are reproducing the kind of the results the videos meant to teach, they all make sense. The tilt, bent elbow, lower your shoulder, and all the messages start making sense. You have to watch his hundreds of times and they all worth it!

    GREAT info! Instead of chest down facing target head down etc... I visualize a stick figure drawing to keep it simple. Merely maintain the spine angle while shoulders turn on the same plane. Every time something goes awry, I visualize the stick figure to keep it simple. I call him "stick man"! ALL of my friends know exactly what I mean when I say it and I'm playing well. :) Thank you ERIC!

      I would also add that you don’t realize how much you need to feel the chest/right shoulder going down/tilting to get in the right spot. As you mentioned, if you think you’re doing it, you’re probably not doing it enough.

    It is the bending of your right side that moves the shoulder into the correct position. As you come into impact, think of your trail shoulder getting closer and closer to your trail hip.

    Good one Eric. Stand tall or taller you have to flip as I always have. Get closer to ground to compress- you can then get the forward leaning shaft with elbow and wrist bend. So obvious once you explained it. Went out into the garden, addressed the leaf and guess what-the divot was target side of the leaf. Miracle! Looking forward to my next golf game.

    THE KEY WORDS IN THIS VIDEO ……. OBLIQUE CRUNCH. Just adding tilt to the shoulders can produce a swing that early releases far too much from the inside…which is okay if you’re a junior or super and you need a hook. In your prime strength years YOU MUST USE THE OBLIQUES TO TILT YOUR SHOULDERS FOR CONTROL

  • @mrfuckyou1972

    Question. Would you agree with statement? (this is oversimplified). If you can get the right shoulder, clubface and hands to meet the ball at the same time with forward press would be an ideal snapshot at impact? Thanks Eric

    @alanwilliams4842 Před 2 lety +1

    Eric in the videos shown to demonstrate none of the shaft angles at address match those at impact despite the distortion of the back to maintain body angle adopted at address. Can you explain please what they are doing?

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes Alan shaft angle at impact higher than setup. Thats because the wrists are more unhinged at impact (unlnar deviation) mostly due to the shoulders being open and tilted.
      So the left shoulder is more UP and AWAY from the ball at impact vs setup. That raises the handle.

  • @tgchris2222

    As an amateur this is dangerous for my over the top swing. Accentuates my backswing problems. I like the guidance of bring the shoulder down to the right hip. Or decrease the distance between the right shoulder and the hip thus creating right side bend. But what he’ll do I know I’m a fifteen handicap…..

  • @migbgold3191
    @migbgold3191 Před 2 lety +1

    Eric isn’t the rear shoulder moving down as a consequence of proper wrist angles? Meaning if as you get top of backswing and into transition you are extending the rear wrist and flexion the lead wrist - won’t you naturally accommodate those proper conditions by rear side bend and covering through impact since the wrist conditions have set up a shorter radius relative to setup? Just trying to match it all up - I have been working on reducing a too strong lead hand grip (left hand for me since I’m a righty) … which had me struggling with a hooded face and snap hooks with longer clubs. By getting that lead thumb more on top it resulted in a more natural way of getting flexion in the lead wrist … which got me the trail wrist extension - and it seems the body movements from transition down through impact just start to fall into place like dominoes and the body naturally needs to lower with side bend and rear shoulder lowing through impact to accommodate the shorter radius established by proper wrist conditions

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  Před 2 lety

      Hey!
      I would say it goes equally both ways.
      So I would say NO the wrist angles dont guarantee the shoulder and the shoulder doesnt guarantee the wrists.
      You need BOTH.
