Having some fun with this microwave oven transformer, trying to make a spot welder but needs more work...

That transform is fine, is just like mine, from 1kw microwave, the spot welder I made with it outputs only 1,5V without any controller, is direct from the transformer and the transformer direct from 230V, so I weld with more than 500A, you are not getting that amps
Forget about those eletrods, they are resistances, you dont want resistances, I made some needles out of cooper, sometimes I must sharp them, also the cable you used on secundary should be realy thicker, mine is from battery cables conections from a car
I spot weld those batteries just fine, only in 0,4sec each spot weld
Inox is also easy to weld

So you want lower voltage and higher current to spot weld battery?

Yes, you want to transform power out of your outlet to lower voltage and high current, lets say 230v and 10A to 2.3v 1000A with some power loss due to efficiency of a transformer

@@DIYGarageProjects so 2.3v with 1000A is enough to spot weld ur typical 18650 right?

      Definitely

Do you have a plan or a video for the measuring device you made?
