    The fact that he looks more Egyptian than Greek is an amazing idea.

      The Egyptian civilization is older isn't it? That's actually not a bad bit of storytelling if that was the intent.

    That first interaction highlights for me a really interesting difference between Mel and Zag: Zag was always super polite and kind to basically everyone, even people who annoy or dislike him, even Theseus at first. Except his dad, but he had good reason for that paternal animosity. With Mel, it's kinda the opposite. She's a lot more dismissive, more confrontational, and less willing to play along. Granted, that's also very understandable, but the fact Chronos even calls her out for her rudeness despite her not knowing who he is makes me wonder how Zag would've handled that interaction.

      When Melinoe speaks to Chaos, they say that the new spawn of Hades is far less amusing than the first. Could be linked to what you said

      With how damn affable Zagreus usually is, there's a good chance that he would have told Chronos the truth, or at least a version of it. Given his rotten luck, sometimes it probably would have backfired.

      Zagreus would have somehow ended up befriending chronos and convincing him to reconcile with his kids 😅

    chronos has such a neat design, tbh.
    agreeing with others here on his more egypyian-looking and more angelic design, which helps showcase his position as a titan elder. (ironic, as i believe chronos himself is the youngest of the titan siblings born from gaia and ouranous?)
    the way they incorporated his famous sickle is also brilliant. it's his most recognizable and famous bit to his character, a weapon granted to him by his mom to overthrow his father, and they also incorporate it as him using it as a cane!
    also, the golden scars on his body is neat considering chronos was cut into pieces and then was put back together. the scars trace where he was sliced and diced and the pieces stitch back together.
    my one question is i seem to remember hearing chronos was titan of the harvest, not tian of time. am i wrong?

    • @dejinnthedjinn5311
      @dejinnthedjinn5311 Před měsícem +24

      There are various interpretations of Chronos. Others being Cronus and Kronos. Depending on the interpretation, he's either the Titan of the autumn harvest, the Titan of the autumn harvest and time, or even the primordial of time. The Hades 2 interpretation pulls aspects from these variations. Fun fact: The gold scars on his body might be a reference to Japanese Kintsugi art. Which was the art of welding broken things, primarily dishes and pottery, together again; which would leave gold lines where the cracks and pieces were put back together.

      Besides. He is Chronus. According to Ovid, he used to control both land, sea, underworld, and nature by himself, even commanding when it’s time for harvest and other stuff. Not to mention he created men of gold. Absolute control is kinda his thing. And seeing as they gave him powers of Chronos in the game, he is literally time incarnate in here.
      Over all. Pretty good progress
