Perfect. Free tank setup I had gotten got a glass tank upgrade today, and an hour later my power filter kicks the bucket. Ordered one of these for $10 and running the tank on an Hairston and heater for 2 days until it arrives (:
A others have stated, i believe the flow is way to strong. I put the Magi200 (5-10 gallon) model in my 29 gallon as a filtration assist and no matter where i pointed the spray bar below the surface it created a very visible current in the tank. Plants where moving in every part of the tank and my floaters started circulating around the top. I cant imagine what it would do to a Betta in a 5 gallon or even 10 gallon tank. Using the airator/power head attachment makes the current even more strong. However i will say that it seriously oxygenates the water.
Just set this exact filter up on my 7.5 gal cube a couple weeks ago and am loving it. Super quiet and love that you can add your own media in the little compartment (I added Eheim SubstratPro to mine). I find the flow a little strong for such a small aquarium, so I put some course filter sponge in the vertical extension outflow tube that attaches to the spray bar and it works a treat. :)
Ah this is a good idea I’m gonna try it. I have this for my 7 gal and the flow is too strong. I’ll try what you said before getting the mini from Amazon.
I also like Nicrew lights a lot, Better than my Finnex stingrays. I have the Sicxci filter right now and I don't like it because it doesn't break up the surface andyou get that film of nutrients or whatever. I'm gonna switch it out for this one., Great review.!
Appreciate this review. Just bought a similar internal filter with spray bar from Canadian Amazon. Thinking that the spray bar will work well for my 10 gallon divided betta tanks, to provide some gentle movement on both sides of the divider. Will take a look for the Nicrew branded ones.
I think I agree with you, Nicrew do some good products the pump you reviewed is the best 1 I have ever bought Keep them videos coming you do a great job 👏
I would suggest not to put that kind of pump too deep, just below water surface. Because motor is weak and struggling a lot. I recently burned out one when I placed it just about 15 cm below surface.
I got the 200 L one for a small tank that ide like to keep a Betta fish in. Not I think the flow of to strong. My poor neon tetras are in a whirlpool.. would it help if I took the spray bar of?
You never replace most filter media or you would remove your beneficial bacteria. You can just squeeze it out in tank water while doing a water change so it isn't too clogged with physical gunk, and put it back in. (Squeeze it out in a bucket of water you are removing, it will be very dirty)
I have the same filter for my 10 gal tank for my betta. what I'd suggest is either upgrading to a larger tank or setting up your tank so most of the water flow is disrupted by your tank decorations to make it more gentle. My betta found himself some gentle spots he likes to hang around.
Hey so about a month ago i picked up some macroalgae and some fish(blennys) and crabs that i found and brought them home. It was all good for some time but then blennys ate almost all my algae and now im left with almost none. What do you think i should do.
@@EverydayAquarist well i was hoping for some of it to survive to recreate the natural enviroment they come from. I dont know how to help them come back.
@@karmo0o178 ah I see well blennies and some crabs will eat macro. As they are confined to a tank they will eat everything. Best bet remove whatever is eating the macro. In big tanks it can work out because the herbivores eat slower than it grows but in smaller tanks the herbivores win. Finding that balance is hard 😉
@@EverydayAquarist i guess i should have left algae only to first overgrow, then slowly add some fish. Ill try to make some bowls on a window in hope of saving some.
The air hose and valve go above the water level to add air to the out flow. With the length of hose provided you will need to keep it near the surface, I imagine you can put a longer hose on it but I dont know how that will affect the draw.
Am I the only one who can’t stand how loud the humming sound is? I’ve had it plugged in for an hour and I’m already sick of it. Returning it. Is there any filter that doesn’t hum?
Same, just returned mine. All filters will hum, just gotta find the quietest one. I have one of those nano hang on back filters and while I can’t use the spray bar, it’s much quieter.
@@pyrokais8695 I’ve been using the finnex mini hang on back filter. Once the rotor gets a bit of slime build up the thing it really quite. I sleep beside it.
Headline misleading.. was great in the bedroom but unfortunately we don't have an aquarium..
😬
😂
😂
Hey man this is just a great video, you clearly know the product and what you’re doing. Keep it up!
I have the 380 and 700, both work very well. For the 380 I ditched the carbon box for a finer sponge. The 700 I switched the carbon out for media.
Thank you for your comment

Thanks lost the introductions so was useful to know how to set up. Really pleased with the with it,well worth the money.
The thumbnail! Nice to know! 😂
Great video! Nice little filter, brilliant for a little tank 👍
Thanks for watching 😉
Another great product review. I prefer black spray bars as it hides algae.
Thank you! Regular cleaning will be needed for this spray bar to keep it at its best
Thanks for the video. I am Czeck and mine was free with as a part of a kit, still would preffere the clear pipes, but it is what it is.

great idea.. would love a video on that haha!@@rosebudseads5785
a really great review, needed this as im trying to setup my first tank

done both thanks for the review iv just put my old 45 tank together and am now watching the cloud from the "pre washed stone" be filtered away
Nice video, helpfull makes the choice on my replacement filter easier. 👍

Perfect review video! Subscribed :) thank you
great product review , i have purchased one from amazon :)
Hygger makes one with adjustable flow and ceramic rings, but no vertical extension
Had two of em, both work but both to noisy for the bedroom.
Love your video good explanation 👏 👍
informative review. looking around for a small internal filter
Really helpful :)😊
Heats to the correct temperature in an appropriately sized tank.
Great video, would this be ok to run purely as a polishing filter in a large tank where I’m running a fluval 307
Motor is running but not pumping water how to fix it
I would suggest if it’s submerged you used the oxygen regulator it comes with
Nicrew make great Products.
Filters for the Bedroom - Ooo-err
Filter me Up,
Filter me Down
Filter me up all through the Town
Nice little Filter
Yup
Does electric part has to be under the water? is it not dangerous?
Could the air tube have water come out through it if the power goes out or no? Worried about that part
Do the carbon stones stay in the little bag?
Hi, which one better would you think this filter or oase biocompact 50 for 22L cube fish tank? Thanks
How long does it take to remove cloudiness?
Hi, do you know the size of the spray bar tube?
Is this a good filter for turtles? I wont have the spray feature on.
Too small
Very helpful
Can i use this on horizontal
Just bought the 380 and we've got an extra clear soft tube, confused to where it goes 🙈
On the filter ?
Well done.
Do you are worry about rust on the steel shaft in salt water?
I don't worry at all, ceramic would be preferable though
Which do you prefer ? This 1 or the interpet pf1 you reviewed not long ago
Great question, they are very similar. I prefer this one because of the spray bar
I think I agree with you, Nicrew do some good products the pump you reviewed is the best 1 I have ever bought
Keep them videos coming you do a great job 👏
Is it normal if the product stains my fingers black?
How does oxygen get into the aquarium without the air intake pipe?
Guessing aeration on the top of the water ??
That's not how you get oxygen into the water , its by agitation from the surface.
Using the second attachment and keeping the air hose and valve above the water it will disperse oxygen into the water as it filters.
Bought mine, worked fine but on the second day it just stopped working, tried turn off and on and nothing,no idea how to fix it
Send it back & get a new one
Just don't trust China products.

I have the same myself, how often you change out the filter sponges
