    Thanks for your videos.
    It's been really helpful in deciding between this car or is250. I prefer this car, but there isn't much info online about it. Especially in Europe. So thanks once again

    Thank you taking the time and effort to help owners of the Lexus GS 450H. These videos are both enjoyable and informative. I have recently had a heating problem with my A/C unit inside of the car. I find that the passenger side of my RH drive car does NOT give out the same output as the drivers side, specifically is colder that that of the drivers side when set at the same temperature. I wonder if you can suggest any possible remedies for this? I have been on the Lexus forum and seems a common fault. My model is the SE-L 2007 with 106 ,000 miles on the car. I would appreciate any advice that you can give me, and I look forward to you advice in due course, Many thanks again. Mr P R Coysh Portslade England.

      Hello, sorry to hear about the problem. I didn't have this issue in mine so it's hard to say exactly, but my guess would be blend door motor or low level of refrigerant

    I noticed you haven't changed the pligs yet. These are expensive and as you have to pull off lots of parts to get to them it costs a lot for the labour.

    Thanks for your Lexus videos. I also own a 2009 GS450h. Can I ask about your fuel consumption in the city? And overall?

    • @top10cars80
      @top10cars80  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey! I'm glad the videos are useful :) In city it can vary a lot - now during winter and with high traffic I think it's around 9.5L/100km, during summer and with ligher traffic it can go down to 7.5L/100km. The average overall I think should be around 7-7.5L/100km or even less, since most of the time I'm driving in the countryhood or highways :)

    The replacement battery in US will cost $2500. I do not think that's too bad.

    • @top10cars80
      @top10cars80  Před 2 lety

      Yes, especially that it's not something you do every year, rather once per 10 years in average, I think. And with this cost you still can go lower, using parts of battery from Toyota Prius :)

    • @top10cars80
      @top10cars80  Před 2 lety

      Usually the engine is MUCH louder when you start the car with cold engine. If sound goes down after few seconds, it's still fine, if the noise lasts for a minute or longer, it's worth checking the vvti :)

    Hi, you mean the battery cells on gs450h are the same with toyota prius ? so we can buy prius cells to replace for gs450h ? thats great , cause i am thinking about it , mine is 130k km now

    • @top10cars80
      @top10cars80  Před 2 lety

      From what I've heard, it's the same cells and it's possible to replace. Didn't do it myself so I can't confirm in 100%, but Toyota/Lexus are using the same hybrid technology, so it sounds logical :)

  • @TheFriendlyPsychopath

    My 2013 gs450h hybrid battery doesn’t charge full anymore, it leaves the top battery display digit out keeping it as not 100% full when charged, is that a bad cell, what are my options to get it back to 100% when charged, im in America if my location helps with options available to me.

    How is your fuel consumption so poor? I have a 2009 450h giving mid 30s average mpg going up to high 30s to low 40s for motorway cruising. 2011 moved to the Atkinson cycle engine so should be better than mine...

    • @adamscarstories
      @adamscarstories Před 2 lety +2

      I think there might be a confusion of the units. I believe @Top10Cars in his video used US gallons (235.215/(28.5 US mpg) = 8.253 L/100 km) rather than imperial gallons used for example in the UK (282.481/(34 I mpg) = 8.308 L/100 km).

    • @top10cars80
      @top10cars80  Před 2 lety +2

      Long-time average 8.5L/100km in such heavy car isn't bad at all, imo :) During longer distances (~1000km, avg speed 100-120kmh) it's usually ~7L/100km, what's level of much smaller cars with small engines :) But I believe there are people who can get much better fuel consumption in this car, maybe I'm not that good eco-driver :D
      Wasn't atkinson cycle introduced in 2012, with GS mk4? I may be mistaken but that's what I know. 2011 didn't have any big changes in comparison to previous model years :)

    • @spacetime7979
      @spacetime7979 Před 2 lety +1

      @@top10cars80 You're both right. Amazing fuel economy for such a heavy car and the Atkinson cycle engine was introduced at an earlier motor show but didn't go into production until later.

      Did the back for 2013 GX, they have adaptive control, pretty expensive 350 USD per side, or ditch the electronic control and just regular ones 125 USD each. I did adaptive control, and I don’t think they are needed, probably just wasted the money, the controller can just be left to the side.
