    My theories for some of the unsolved ones:
    "Orpheus and Eurydice will be torn asunder; do not look back" - The myth this is alluding to is the one where a man is allowed to bring his wife back from the Underworld, but only if he doesn't look back. In the story, he does look back, and loses her forever. In the context of Origins, it could be a reference to Bayek and Aya going their separate ways at the end of the game.
    "Beware the three-headed hydra, for he will devour the asp" - I had a theory on this one back when the game first came out, that it might be about Aya; since she was said to have killed Cleopatra with an Asp, I thought maybe she was the Asp. Since the Order of Ancients was associated with a snake, I thought perhaps the "Three-headed hydra" could refer to the Order after the death of Julius Caesar, if perhaps three people took over - the Second Triumvirate of Augustus, Mark Antony, and Lepidus, perhaps. However, I don't know of any material from after Origins that would support this theory, so unless they make a direct sequel I'll have no way of knowing if I guessed right.
    "More terrible men will arise in his place, then you will know the true meaning of tyranny" - Could be referring to either Ptolemy or Caesar; a while after the events of Origins, the Romans took over Egypt. That could be the "terrible men" and "tyranny" in question.
    "An Empire will arise from his Ashes" - I'd say this is referring to Caesar; the Roman Empire was only officially established as an "Empire" by Augustus, taking over after Julius's death.
    EDIT: Oh, and "There is no certainty; you may as well grab a wolf by the ears" - Saying "there is no certainty" is an allusion to the imperfection of Isu predictions, I assume. The analogy to grabbing a wolf by the ears is an old way of talking about a bad situation you can't back out of (you don't want to hold the wolf, but if you let go it will attack you). With hindsight, I wonder if the choice of words has something to do with Fenrir.

    • @showmetheway2
      @showmetheway2 Před 2 lety

      Caesar was assassinated because the conspirators thought he would be tyrannical. But that event gives rise to true tyranny in rulers like Caligula.
      I think you're right about the second triumvirate. The asp is most probably Cleopatra. The hydra leads to the death of the Asp.

    "Orpheus and Eurydice will be torn asunder. Do not look back" Is this not just explaining their story. If Orpheus looked back at Eurydice when they were leaving Tartarus he would never see her again in life. You could say that their relationship had been torn asunder by Orpheus looking back.

    "More terrible men will arise in his place. Then you will know the true meaning of tyranny" "An empire will arise from his ashes" both refer to Julius Caesar. The Orpheus and Eurydice one may just be a reference to the Greek myth, as when Orpheus 'looked back' as Persephone warned him not to, Eurydice was 'torn asunder' from him straight back to the underworld. The myth goes that Eurydice had died, and Orpheus (who was the greatest musician ever to live) journeyed to the underworld to win her back with his music, and then failed, as he did not trust hades or Persephone to keep their word. They had promised her return, only if he did not look behind him on his way to the world of the living, he then looked back, saw her, and she then disappeared. I do believe that this one has a deeper meaning however, and I suspect it may be referring to a character who longs after their dead lover, though I cannot think of who.

"the more terrible men will arise" may reference the rise of the templars after the destruction of the order of the ancients in Valhalla. the "an empire will arise from his ashes" could reference the great fire of Rome, the persecution of Christians to the edict of Milan and Catholicism's influence creating the Holy Empire.

"But as it is, we have the wolf by the ear, and we can neither hold him, nor safely let him go. Justice is in one scale, and self-preservation in the other." Perhaps this refers to something in AC III or to a general concept about how the balance between order and chaos (templar and assassin) must be maintained with disaster if one wins, but also much collateral damage to the rest of humanity in the crossfire of this secret war.

    Perhaps the one ending with "you might as well hold a Wolf by the ears" refers to the dire political situation of Ptolomeic Egypt at the time. A damned if you do, damned if you dont scenario.
    The idiom "hold the wolf by the ears" roughly means being in a situation that would be both strenuous to leave and to stay, equally... perhaps bringing into question whether or not Ptolomy is a greater of two evils, seeing as Cleopatra and Ceasar definitely arent a fresh bed of Rose's.

    'Your Soul is shrouded' prophesy honestly could relate to Layla entering the Grey as we now know the Grey transcends the concept of time, so it's possible that the oracle felt an echo of Laylas essence.

    • @jimsus69
      @jimsus69 Před 2 lety

      When entering the grey they change from a person.. to a program.. or app.. that's why they no longer care about time.. cos literally all they can do now is think.. without a body.. and can no longer sleep etc so hey function endlessly til their goal is complete..
      When entering the Grey.. they basically become an app.. and little to no memory of who or what they once was..
      Which is why Desmond doesn't even know he was Desmond anymore.. his soul was stolen.. and imprisoned.. then Loki and the 3 Elves who advise Odin.. changed him from Hugr or "soul" into a program.. so he would no longer miss his actual life.. and also so Loki and the 3 tree head Elf ladies could get the information they needed from Desmond and Layla whenever they need it.. all they have to do is log in.. and command them to tell them anything.

    • @jimsus69
      @jimsus69 Před 2 lety

The asp might relate to how Cleopatra was allegedly killed via asp venom. The hydra devouring the asp relates to how her alliance with Caesar ended up becoming a betrayal of Egypt leading to her falling from grace and then no longer being the ruler that Egypt deserved

    The two prophecies that Besa speaks at Bayek at the end, aren't really meant for Bayek but rather for Layla who is living Bayek's memories. The absloution and forgiveness she seeks is for killing her friend at the end of AC Odyssey. Her motive ever since has been in seeking redemption. The plunge in icey waters also represents her redemption at the end of AC Valhalla at the temple of the Isu. The Ygddrasil facility in frozen Norway underground and under frozen waters.

    The last couple of probably to do with the death of Julius Caesar again I would say because his death did Trigger a mental shift to imperialism and the true death of the Roman Republic but also in the new interpretation of it Assassin's Creed history gave the order of the ancients figurehead to to form round and codify into the modern-day Templars maybe father of understanding guide us all etc etc.
    By the way I still find this incredibly weak because I don't think ceaser was developed enough as a character speak even such an important roll he just seemed arrogant and not very much like a philosopher and I very heavily in previous games to his philosophy founding the Templar order. Obviously in previous games that it was heavily hinted that the father understanding was actually a precursor which makes more sense to me

    Melissantih's voice was used for various secondary characters in Origins, the fact that she played the oracle means nothing, plus the prophecy says ``a God made flesh'' she is clearly talking about a male. Pythagoras had maybe isu blood but he is not a God. The one who is a ``God made flash`` is the eagle bearer because he BORN with a hight concentration of isu blood. Like i say, she talk about a God (and not a Goddess) so the God made flesh is ALEXIOS (and for ``the viper who whispers lies from the stuff`` you are wrong, in Valhalla it was revealed that Aletheia was lying, so with Origins they were already developing Odyssey and its protagonist, male obviously
