  • My First video! I've created at recycled bottle colorful wall with a concrete countertop used as a bar. The sunlight radiates through at sunset. I have inlaid glass bottle rings into the concrete countertop, and polished to a smooth surface. I hope you enjoy my video. I have always taken on new challenges, and will be posting more videos detailing my upcoming projects. Please like and subscribe to my channel. Thanks Kip

    I have watched well over a hundred bottle repurposing videos, glass and plastics, over the past 10 years. And this project of yours is probably the most artsy beautiful and gorgeous outcome that I have ever seen.
    🎉Bravo young lady.

    The transparencies don’t melt with the heat of the sun?

    Love the transparent glass bottles do they work. Going to do a bottle wall in our Strawbale house. Looks awesome.

    Beautiful. Maybe broken colored glass would work inside clear glasses to add color.

    Just thought of something that could speed up your process if you ever think of doing another wall. What if you laid out your bottles between two sheets of foam insulation with say, wire spacers in between and then poured aircrete (aerated concrete). The finish would be flawless and you could also press the bottles into the foam sheets if you wanted them to stick out slightly.

    It looks great. Good job. So you stated that once you used more water in the mortar mix it was easier to wipe down and smooth out the area in between the bottles? Did you have to add more mortar at times as you went up, as needed, in between bottle layers, and then smooth it out?

    • @kipinaz9747
      @kipinaz9747  Před 3 lety +1

      Sorry for the delay, I made the mortar in small batches, smoothing it out as much as possible as I went. When I was complete. I made a watered down slip with the mortar and put a layer over the rough edges for a smoother finish.

    Fabulous. You did a great job. I just started making glass bricks. I bought the transparencies- thanks for the suggestion. Do you have advice for a beginner?

    • @sustainwind9340
      @sustainwind9340 Před 3 lety

      I can suggest that you don't have to mind about precisely cutting the bottle round as you just have to tape it & it just goes into the mortar.

    • @kipinaz9747
      @kipinaz9747  Před 3 lety +2

      Be patient with yourself and make sure they are completely dry. I would suggest you not make them on humid days. I have a couple of mine that have a little moisture inside on occasion and I live in dry AZ.

    Won't the transparencies breakdown and crumble eventually?

    • @kipinaz9747
      @kipinaz9747  Před 4 lety

      Dana Singer I don’t know. I took a chance. So far they are holding up great in the AZ heat. I only get direct sunlight at low sunset. 👍
