If you are going to cover the hostage crisis you should have started with 1953 coup wich American embassy was used to overthrow the democratically elected government of iran for oil and the hostage crisis was to stop the same thing happening again.
Other than that great video and you look like a great person.
Media today is the face of war. The war powers will see to it that this video don't get enough views to ruin their plans. You might be able to play a small part in delaying, or preventing a war if you can get enough high subscriber count youtubers to share or link this video and similar content. It might not be enough, but nobody wins in a war. It seems that the US owes the Iranians an apology that they will accept... And both sides owe each other a lot more patience, and understanding. And that that will be the only win-win. The world has changed so much, it's heart breaking that one country can be so arrogant and incredible that another can be so principled. Thank you for making this video. People have a right to self determination and to figure out their own stuff. If you want to live in the "West", move to a "Western" country.
If you want a second opinion I have been there this year. It's a place where I've never imagined I will go to and, to tell the truth, I didn't know what to expect. I was a bit afraid for all the things said on the news but confident, at the same time, after hearing about other travelers experiences. When I finally got there, I found a truly safe place, full of art, traditions, tasty food, beautiful cities, amazing deserts, stunning oasis, incredible islands and the best part was the kindness and hospitality of the people, at a level that I've never experienced before. I couldn't understand all the wrong things said about this country.
If any of you ever has the chance to go, please don't hesitate. I was a Latin girl traveling there alone and I am happy and thankful to have taken the decision to go, because of the amazing people I met and also because no country has surprised me in a positive way as much as Iran did. =)
Thank you Jacob for doing such a great video. Now I want to meet Hasan. I actually cried watching it and remembering how nice Iran was and how wrong we see it from outside. You are the best!
Awesome you had a great experience too! Honestly, when I was there, I think I met more solo female travelers than solo male travelers, which made me really happy. Way to go!
Exactly! Way to go and we can all help with small actions. =)
I've always considered myself very bad in social media but, after Iran, I realized I was visiting unusual and missundersrood places, so I thought maybe could help people change their minds by sharing. Only then, I decided to open an Instagram (for the first time) and a website to share information about places that are not the most usual. I am starting and you have been one of my biggest inspirations. THANK YOU SO MUCH JACOB! From my heart. I am not the best at it but I hope to do a little bit helping to eliminate preconceptions this way. 🙂
And I hope you come to Bolivia (my country) someday! 🇧🇴 Here you have a friend happy to show you the best of our places and culture! 🤗
@@VanesaZF I'm from Australia and Bolivia is one of my favourite countries in the world.
@@chriper77 I am so happy to read that! You made my day! You are always welcome here 🤗
as an iranian i feel like i need to clear some things out
1. you were treated with hospitality because its tradition to treat guests as you would your own family
2. most ppl are muslims in name and dont practice it with the vigor you'd expect
3. 70% of the population is under 30 years old, born after the revolution and mostly have liberal tendencies and often look for a way around the theocratic sharia laws
4.everyone is welcome here
dont let your prejudice get the better of you, i myself work as a part time connseuir at IranMall
i meet tourists all day long telling me how much they love it here
and lastly, iran is safe, only unsafe news was an isis attack in 2017 ( first in a decade )
we have very low crime rates and no guns ( actually safer than u.s and u.k in the global safety index )
if you're unsure about comming here, dont be
Siavoush Avesta
I didn’t realise it was safer in Iran than in the UK and US.
Not most people are muslim in name. Being crazy fanatical and strict isn't the only way to be muslim. A lot of them are still muslim and share muslim beliefs.
@@haitamc5611 a lot of us*, and no we dont, overwhelming majority of people my age [ 20-25 ] dont care about islam or the revolutionary anti-western rhetoric
there is however a lingering islamic tendency that is somewhat an issue
but if you roamed around in iran you'd see that the people are very open minded and are quite liberal
Dear Siavash thank you for your flawless and informative words.
And are you a Muslim?
As an Iranian, sometimes I forget what an amazing and beautiful country Iran is . Thank you for your honesty. It was so refreshing seeing the joy in your eyes. I hope many people get to watch this and know Iranians are the most welcoming, hospitable people. We are not terrorist and we hate war and we are under so much pressure because of sanctions. It's a good thing for tourists though, It's ridiculously cheap to travel here . Let's hope for better days, days we can share love and peace everywhere in the world.
I agree with you

I had a few days in Tehran at the start of my trip and went round by myself, then did a peregrine tour. Most interesting and friendly places I’ve visited. Definitely a country of paradoxes. A whole country’s people should not be judged by their political leaders. I will be going back there again 🙂

Amazing country, beautiful melodious poetic language, breath-taking vast rugged landscapes, amazing contrasts, beautiful weather, beautiful warm friendly loving people, delicious healthy food, great rich culture & music! Iran will remain in my heart forever ❤️🇮🇷🌟🙌 #LoveIran
The people of Iran are among the best ambassadors for their country on the planet. Very friendly and helpful to foreigners. The country has many beautiful areas too. It's always governments that get in the way.

What a great piece!! Thank you so much Jacob! 😊 love how your narrate your videos. Very playful, genuine & respectful of your host nations. 👏
Hi Jacob, I'm an Iranian living in Toronto, Canada. Watching your 2 videos about Iran had a deeply pleasant feeling for me. You made me miss my country and see it from a non-Iranian perspective and appreciate the beautiful things about it and see it from a different angle. Thank you so much for that.
And what a good soul you are. Watching these videos made me think how it would feel to travel the world with a nice positive friend like you who is able to see and appreciate joy in life. Hats off to you my friend! :)
I shed some tears watching this video :’) thank you Jacob for sharing this video and giving a new perspective.
Also, if you ever plan to go to Kazakhstan, let me know! I’ll be happy to help you with everything you need 🇰🇿
Thank you so much! Comments like this make my day :)
Why tears?
