Damn! You have to have a mess of hoses in back of this set with the sidekick. I'm thinking of ordering the Sidekick, but I get the feeling there's often issues with these. Not draining totally and receiving damaged. I'm still considering it, but I have to believe over years, those plastic Y connectors are going to be stressed.
The SideKick™ Pedestal Washer shares its drain hose with the washer that it is paired with. We do not have any reported issues nor are we aware of any reported issues about drainage issues. The hoses are made of the same material as those for the washer so they will hold up to the same stresses as any washer hoses do. The water pressure for all our washing machines & the SideKick™ Pedestal Washer is the same & the hoses are designed to those specifications so stress is not an issue...^Ivan
@@LGUSA I'm sorry I wasn't more clear, I guess because I haven't experienced it myself. I just read about it. It seems that "some" people had an issue with the tub "totally" draining. Sounds like water sometimes would remain in the tub causing the usual issues with water remaining. I was interested in getting the Sidekick with the 8100 series. They are out of stock still. I was between the 8100 with a Sidekick, or the 4500 series without. I'm apprehensive about so many electronics on the 4500 series, but I'm pretty sure that's where I'm headed. Thank you so much for your responses! VERY helpful.
If the Start/Pause button on our washers is not pressed to start the selected cycle, after a delay the washer automatically turns off & all cycle settings are lost. Any water remaining in the drum will be drained. Water will only remain in the tub when a wash cycle ends if the drain pump filter is clogged so it is recommended to periodically check the drain pump filter to ensure that it is not clogged with foreign objects so it drains properly...^Ivan
Same observation here, holes on the main washer are too high. I fixed the problem by taking off the 4 legs of the main washer (you need to be two individuals as the main washer must be tilted) . I then replaced the top nut of each leg by a nut (M10) that is ~3mm shorter. I am baffled by the incompetence of LG... I will never buy an appliance from them again.
Our 2nd installer said as you start a screw in, the two flanges pull together. Also we found #8 x 1" screws worked, as the original installer misplaced the install kit
Remember this video is using all rubber hoses, ALL hoses should be replaced with stainless braided no burst ones including the footlong ones that come out of the hot and cold faucet AND including stainless y connectors found in steam dryer kits
I wonder why you cannot install the sidekick under the dryer? You can install a full-size washer under the dryer but not the sidekick. Does this apply to the most recent Sidekick model WD300CV? Can the sidekick be installed above the big washer with a stacking kit? I have a tight place and I’m trying to find a solution.
There's a weight switch near the back left corner that you can tape down and it will work. I live in a tiny studio apartment, so I put this thing underneath my bed and ran a hose to the kitchen sink. Saves floor space and the landlord will never know it's there.
Do not buy the twin wash mini unite. There is no dispenser in the unit, so you need to use it only when you're home. It is impossible to drain residual water, so moving it or re-pack it is a risk.
Hey there. The installation kit is included with the purchase of the LG pedestal washer. You can order the pedestal washer here: www.lg.com/us/washers-dryers/lg-wd300cb-pedestal-washer?gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIie2AlZ3lhgMVEHJ_AB175AEfEAQYASABEgKnevD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds. Hope this helps. ^ Diego
I found this a bit confusing at first because it wasn’t colour coordinated. After going over the video over and over, I got it but I realized in a previous video I saw, they basically made another video doing and explaining the same thing but in a more visually simpler way. I believe They probably did this because they noticed people were or are confused with this one so they chose to make another one with all the colour coded hoses to make it easier to understand. @@littlebit670 Does this mean I can use my older LG washer with this, and just depress the stacking switch permanently? I have 3 LG washers. I was hoping this could be used on one of them, so I don't have to buy a 4th. I have 2 other houses and run an Inn so do a lot of laundry.

Not too hard after the first couple installs . The first one I did was a headache main problem getting clips on bottom of dryer to stay on till it was lifted on top of pedestal . The screw holes didn’t seem to ever line up two people really helps .

Failure to use the clamps could result in flooding if the hoses come loose from the Y-connector!
If inserted more than an inch, it will cause leaking at the drain Y-connector.
Has anyone had problems with the screw holes on the mounting kits not lining up (@1:30)?
Yes! the screw holes in the main washer are higher than the screw holes in the side kick washer.

How do I order the connector to empty the water to the original hose?

where is the magnetic remote controller? It should come included but I couldn’t find it anywhere on or inside my new unit.

Can the "WD1571RD" model be fitted with a pedestal? and what model of pedestal would it be?
Well I want to connect to a dryer and I need a different mounting kit. Why can't you install under a dryer?
there most likely referring to the kit pre installed
Sure you can, LG shows you how to do it here czcams.com/video/N6K7-rBE830/video.html
I have order this 6 times from Best Buy each time it came damaged so I finally got tired and cancel the order…
If not allowed, then how come it's possible to install it under a dryer?!
I wonder if you could install this in a van. I’m curious, might have to try
Just find a way to keep the stacking switch pressed down. If it isn’t, you will receive an “E7” error code.
This is my question, too. I am on the fence abut drawer fridge, too. These could make a clean and efficient stack in one location.
I just want to use the mini washer below , can buy separately?
I've seen small top loading washers for under $300. They're about the size of a dorm fridge.

Their is a little drain hose in the back like the ones in the lg front loaders but no access port to clean out the pump I’m pretty sure
FineGamer512 I can now use a spin only cycle but no tub draining method available inthe mini washer
Does this connect to WiFi (LG APP) like my washer?
The LG SideKick™ Pedestal Washer is not a Wi-Fi-enabled unit...^Ivan
Great video! Have a quick question - can the sidekicker washer and the main washer operate at the same time?
Yes is the answer, we own a sidekick and my wife absolutely loves it.
Does anyone know the size of the screws that connect the washer to the pedestal I didn't get the install kit
What's the big blue plug for? Sitting here looking at it lol.
Detergent dispensing cap for the sidekick washer
Thanks for the reply...luckily my 16 year old daughter figured it out :(
So can you wash blankets 🤔
only if small
It’s for fitness clothes delicates small load
This is very informative but it’s NOT showing me HOW to REPLACE the door of the mini machine …

You can't lol
whear is the side kick
How do I purchase that kit
