Because she was a child surrounded by white actors in Hollywood. It’s happens. She’s now an adult, who probably hangs mostly around her family and “black” peers.

You can 200% correct me if I’m wrong, but if you’re talking about old interviews she did when she was on Jessie or Bunk’d, to be fair she was around a lot of white people in that time in her life. She probably talked like a valley girl because she thought it would help her fit in more. But now that she’s not doing that anymore, she’s likely grown more comfortable in her skin, and just being herself
Her mom is from NY but Skai was born and raised in Cali. Her mom is real hard NY. She’s a grown woman and is in charge of her own environment.
