I’d say that too but…. She isn’t who she was on American Idol. Her voice and everything has changed. Once she got her chops and training by real industry people , it released what we see today.

If she worked on her technique she’d be absolutely unstoppable though. The main problem with most overly polished voices, like Lea Michele for example, is that they sing with basically no emotion and focus solely on technique and sounding good. Take other classically trained singers like Amber Riley and Cynthia Erivo though, who have a perfect balance of technique and rawness in their singing

For Jennifer, she auditioned for American Idol by singing Aretha Franklin's Share Your Love With Me, sang "Respect" in front of the Aretha, sang at Aretha's funeral, then finally get to play the Queen Of Soul in a biopic movie in which Aretha handpicked her

Not to diss anyone in particular, but the fact that we have so many young, moderately talented punks these days making more money and somehow selling out more shows than this woman completely baffles me. Moderate talent didn’t used to cut it. This did. Jennifer Hudson may be the most underrated singer of this generation 💜

Jennifer Hudson's personality is EVERYTHING!!! When I watched her on the voice (US edition) and see her throw one (or both) of her shoes, I would think "JHud needs some decoy shoes because she's about to break a heel or two with her expensive shoes."
