  • Making a Subway sandwich at home is easier than you think. The main key ingredient or item required to make this sandwich at home is the subway sandwich bread. If you’ve never made bread before, well then just sit back and watch this video as I will go over in detail and show you how to make this amazing homemade subway sandwich bread.
    Silicon Bread Mold I used - amzn.to/2Mdois1
    Ingredients (Both Metric and Imperial)
Bread Flour 500g or 4 cups
3/4 Cup or 190 ml Lukewarm Water
1 packet or 7g of Yeast
    1 & 1/2 TBSP or 19g Sugar
    1 & 1/2 TSP or 9g Salt
2 TBSP or 27g Cooking Oil
    2 TBSP or 28g Butter
1/2 Cup or 125ml Lukewarm Milk
    Method
    1. Prepare your yeast mixture by combing 1 packer or 7g of yeast and 1 1/2 tbsp or 19g of sugar in 3/4 cups or 190ml of lukewarm water.
    2. Take 500g or 4 cups of bread flour. (you can use all-purpose as well) and add about 1 1/2 tsp or 9g of salt
    3. To your bread flour pour in your yeast mixture and add about 1/2 cup or 125 ml of lukewarm milk. you have to make sure water and milk are warm else you may get a different result. Add 2 tbsp of cooking oil 27g and 2 tbsp or 28g of butter.
    4. Knead dough by hand for 8-10 minutes or for 5 minutes if using a mixer. Let dough rest for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
    5. After 1 hour shape your sandwich bread as you like. I went with the traditional subway aka french baguette style. Let your bread rest for another 30 minutes to an hour or until they get puffy.
    6. Apply some egg wash or milk wash.
    7. Bake at 350F or 180C for about 18-20 minutes until buns turn golden.

A nice easy, and most importantly, quick recipe, (not 24 hours), without much fuss, and no music to distract the listener, (thank you for that). The rolls/little baguettes came out really well. Thanks for the recipe and an excellent and well presented video. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

For the bread nest/mold if you have any heavy material like canvas or heavy linen if not a thick dish towel. just pleat a lightly floured cloth and pinch up place the dough shapes and cradle them in between against say a wall and heavy can to force them to stay in tight and it will form nicely as it rises. Search for bread proving cloth or Couche

Is there a specific reason why you stated that you should use warm milk in this recipe? Using warmer ingredients in breadmaking will quicken the fermentation process since your final dough will be a higher temp. Less fermentation, less flavor. Typically for me I try to aim at a final dough temperature of 24-25C. Never see the need to use warm liquids, maybe if my kitchen is too cold but other than that room temp or cold is what I use.
