  • Emma Kenny delves into the devastating murder of Alisha Bromfield, a case that highlights the terrifying extremes of control and possessiveness in relationships. Alisha, a young and vibrant woman, was tragically killed by Brian Cooper, a man who had been her supervisor and a controlling figure in her life.
In this episode, Emma examines the dynamics of Alisha and Brian's relationship, exploring how what initially seemed like a professional connection evolved into a dangerous obsession. She discusses the warning signs of controlling behavior and the psychological impact such relationships can have on victims.
Emma also explores the investigation and subsequent trial, which brought to light the extent of Brian Cooper's manipulation and possessiveness. Through her compassionate storytelling, Emma pays tribute to Alisha's life, while also raising awareness about the importance of recognizing and addressing early signs of abusive behavior in relationships.
Join Emma Kenny for a profound exploration of a case that resonates deeply with the ongoing struggle for awareness and prevention of relationship abuse.

❤Emma, instead of glorifying motherhood at a young age or in a not so good relationship I wish you would emphasize how in most cases it derails💕a young life and puts their child, wages and independence at high stakes. Ditto for dropouts and sex workers. Baby daddies are not fathers in most cases. Many women have 5 or 6 children with different men. Motherhood can be wonderful but not if you're working 2 or 3 shifts and engaging with in high risk behavior. It makes you vulnerable and easy 😮to dehumanize.

I would love to meet these men you’re talking about that have baby mamas just left and right. Most guys haven’t even seen more than three women naked.
This girl happened to get pregnant in college. she doesn’t have to do anything. She should be able to be a college student without having a grown adult who is a man use his status in a work environment to harass this woman. A pregnant woman at that. A pregnant woman regardless of age regardless of your opinion. Deserves respect and not respect is not being sexually harassed. There should be more accountability for men that decide to take advantage of a pregnant 23 year old. All your little heart emojis but you have no empathy.

Genuinely I think the lead paint took away whatever receptors in your brain have empathy. I guess your solution for her is to just what not to be pregnant. Because it would make it easier for you to feel sympathy for her. Because you don’t agree with her life choices the life that she was living that was robbed from her at an incredibly young age that you have absolutely no sympathy for because she did not have the same values that you think someone that is 23 should have. @TakersSoulGirl22 Yes as a matter of fact I do know YOU don't know what situations I've been in❗️As I stated if something was going down I would get my mom, very small example but the principal was going to paddle me once & I told him he BETTER call my mom before he touched me, so she comes charging in there & tells him in no uncertain terms what she will do with that paddle if anyone threatened me with it again ESPECIALLY A FULL GROWN A$$ MAN❗️My daughter came home with a black eye, trying to keep it short, found out it was a boy quite a bit bigger than her. So I went to his house with my dad & her to show his parents her eye & when they acted like it was no big deal well let's just say I told her then she was going to be punished for it. By the time I left there he wouldn't even look in her direction for the next 3 years of high school. These are just 2 VERY SMALL examples of mother to daughter communication for help I was talking about, it would literally save lives. So many women that have been murdered have been begged by loved ones not to do something or go somewhere that ultimately leads to their death. It's always the murderers fault, not victim shaming, just giving young ppl that may read this something to think about.

Absolutely horrendous case, but wow Sherry's strength and ability to turn that pain to something positive is incredibly admirable; the fact she thought of others with so much going on!
The intoxicated excuse is utter bollocks and I'm glad they made that inadmissible in future - as you said so many people get intoxicated to that level and do regrettable things but at the time are in control of their faculties and don't murder anyone, let alone a young innocent mother to be.
RIP Alisha and Ava, thinking of them and their loving family

I can't help but think the family (I know they have been wonderful, loving and supportive) should have stepped in to support her earlier. As a mother, I would have been extremely worried if any of my daughters went off with a man who had called them a slut and a whore. That is classic narcissistic predator language. Also, if sex was off the menu, why are they sharing a room, what did she think would happen? Dreadful man, thank God he is banged up forever. My thoughts and condolences to Alicia's family. So this case struck a major cord with me. I worked at Home Depot when I was younger, totally different state and store, but I too had a manager who for some reason decided she didn't like me, and made my time there hell. Unfortunately she didn't do anything overt that I could clearly point at and prove was wrong and illegal like this guy did, but she would mess with my shifts, get me in trouble for being "late" if I wasn't at the register exactly when my shift was supposed to start even though we weren't allowed to clock in early, and got the upper management to ban my boyfriend at the time from coming in while I was working. He nor I did anything wrong, he didn't check out through my line, didn't come and talk to me at the register and distract me, didn't come when I was on break and cause me to be back late, so I can only assume that the manager was either jealous, or didn't like that we were together. Ultimately I got sick, had to miss a fair bit of work and got fired, but hearing this case, I feel like there may be a larger problem within the stores management and how things are handled. I just can't believe that here's another case of them just ignoring the fact that one of their managers is problematic, and in this case ended up in the deaths of two people. I really hope that after this Home Depot cleaned up their act and takes people seriously when there is such a huge breach of power and conduct.

I think that it was 1st degree murder! He intended to assault her…Why else intentionally book a different hotel, far away from his family & anyone who could know him! It’s my understanding that a murder committed whilst in the commission of another violent crime, is First Degree Murder!
