Mounting a DSLR or Mirrorless Camera on an Equatorial Mount

- When I first got into astrophotography I knew I would need a star tracker or equatorial mount to capture photos of deep sky objects. I ended up going with an equatorial mount so that I could ultimately grow into the hobby with a refractor telescope. However, I wanted to start with using DSLR or mirrorless cameras on the equatorial mount but finding ways to mount them were problematic.
Initially I started with a ball head mount secured on a Vixen dovetail plate but finally ended up settling on the larger and more secure ADM Vixen dovetail to Arca-swiss adapter. Hope this helps!

I know this is very late but can you do an in depth step by step connection or parts needed and how to connect, I am very new to dslr mounted directly to the eq mount.
Thank you, this was helpful. Was that CEM 26? Wanted to see if you felt this way better than a reg tracker like SA or SG pro?
This is the GEM28 but definitely superior to a star trackers in its use in terms of weight capacity and guiding.
I like the adapter from Vixen to Arca! But I want to mount two DSLRs with Arca on the lenses to the same iOptron mount. The total are lower than the 26lb capacity. Would a dual camera plate suffice or is there a better more stable solution?
How do you mount the camera pointing in the opposite direction like for tracking the sun? Do you use a right angle bracket or something like that?
Hi! I don’t think you mentioned where to get the adapter - what’s the best store? Thanks 🙏
I linked it in the description. I got it direct from the manufacturer.
Google it.
