- Welcome back to another Thursday upload where I go over project updates as well as things we have in the works here at Brick House Builds! This week we of course have lots to talk about with motorcycle projects but the big news is an EPIC motorcycle challenge that will start this Saturday 4/27/24 and run to Monday 4/29/24. Tune in and don't miss it!

48 hours to purchase, get running, and ride 100 miles to get ice cream!
We will be starting the challenge from Archway Motorcycle Salvage in St. Louis, Missouri which is unfortunately closing down this same weekend. They have hundreds of bikes and parts so get there if you can!

This is an awesome challenge. I hate to know what’s going to happen to all the bikes that don’t sell. Any old sportbikes there by chance?
Yeah I'm afraid to learn what will happen as well. There are a bunch of older sport bikes actually
man that sucks if I still lived in Illinois I would run down. Finding plastic for some of these alder sportbikes is like finding gold.
Some of the best fun always starts with: This is probabbly a bad idea, but we're going to do it anyway!

I would like to update, I didn't get the bike that I wanted to fix up, but I can probably find a more desirable one anyways. Lol

How about a couple of old British bikes, Norton, Triumph maybe even a BSA ?
Not really any there in any sort of complete-ish condition. Mainly Japanese and Harley stuff
Is that a stock tank on that customer's CB 750 ? Really like the style and paint job ! What style handle bars are those and is that bike considered a Cafe style bike , a custom , or bobber ? I like it whatever it is !
Stock tank yes. Just considered a cafe with the clip on bars

A good idea.
I have a 1982 Honda silver wing interstate 500. Well I had it apart to put a stater in it, and the fan looked the exact same as that one, but I'm a dummy and ran it, well got maybe 20 miles on my test ride, and BANG!!!! something came out and hit my legs. Got stopped and shut it down. That's what it was, the fan COMPLETELY blew into dust. Only thing left was the center on the shaft. Got lucky enough it didn't put a hole in my rad, and rode it home, but I I got lucky.

Lucky it was a cool day, and the stater, actually was working great, charged the battery, and the temp gauge works, I went about halfway and stopped 20 minutes and then home. But since I put a n electric fan on, and no problems. Good running, and fun riding little bike.
OOPS I just checked the Bill of Sale for the 600 Bandit. That would be Howard Goodlooking. Yea, That's the name of my bike. (I can't make this stuff up). So I have a bike named Howard. Nice. Don't you think? ~ Not gonna lie.
Didn't Robert Pirsig do his zen ride on a Honda CB360 twin? Two carbs and one coil will be half the work of a CB350F. They are not particularly sought after so might have a few carcases 😮 you could use to cobble together a tribute ice cream trip. Seth, as a younger guy, might dig the zen "perfection" vibe all anew.
Im currently reading that and still not sure what the exact model is lol. Still two coils for the twins though. Good idea regardless as were very familiar with those engines and they are super common

What a great idea. I've never done Instagram ... but this might be a good reason to start.
Air cooled for the win. It'll be hard for you guys not to bring back a couple more CB750s. Then again, maybe the black engined last 8 valve models, if they have them. I'm more a Suzuki GS guy so if be in for GS750 but expect to replace stator and regrec unit. Super easy fix, fantastic engine AND chassis.

We will see what we come up with. I know I'd personally love a cb350f/550/750 so if I see a good candidate I may go for that

What is the best cafe racer on Yamaha virago projects to your opinion?
Well "best" is subjective really. I think you need to decide what style you like as far as engine layout. Single, vtwin, parallel twin, inline 4, etc.

@@taraschicagoh1MARS Well if thats what you like then I say go for it. An XV750 is easy to find and cheap. An XV920r is more rare but chain drive making rear wheel swaps easier.
Dang, I hate to see places like that going away! I wonder if they have any Kawasaki 750 turbo parts?
I doubt they have that. Much of the super rare stuff has been long picked over

Not a bad idea. There is such a thin sealing area that it may be tough to find something to fit though
48h Bike rev Challenge....did you say bringing it back to the shop ?? That's a nice start BUT check out this guy "nononsenseknowhow", he flies to Vegas with the wife & dog, buys some crap that has been sitting for decades and is not running, has next to no tools (how much can you take on a plane with you) and attempts to fix the car where it is (no trailering to the comfort of a nice workshop stocked with part and tools) with the goal to drive the family back home 2000+ miles to NJ in it.
Nuts, but he has done it multiple times and CZcams the whole thing.
