What do you think of my new Brompton? What long rides are you planning this summer? What things do you want to know about the bike?
I'm new to Seattle with a C Line older model Brompton. Do you have a Seattle shop you recommenced to have my bike serviced, or is it better to find time to bring it to the Portland shop?
@@mustachemicky8669 montlake bicycles and folding/ebike nw both have lots of Bromptons here and definitely could help. Also I'm hosting a brompton meet up may 19th! Join our discord and msg me for more details hope you can make it
comment se comporte 12 speed dans les cotes de 10 12 °/° ? C'est le plus important lors de l'achat d'un velo
I would love to see one of these with a Shimano Alfine 11-speed hub and belt drive to simplify things.
A little problem with a Belt in the frame, though!
Great vlog. Everyone needs a bike mechanic like that in their lives!
Indeed, let's me just focus on my favorite part: riding!
I could hear the excitement in your voice. I can tell this is definitely your dream bike. 😊😁👍🏽🙌🏽
I bought the T-Line 4 speed and I am very happy with it, no regrets. But I also have 6 speed (C-Line), I don’t really need 12 speed. These Brompton are so wonderful to travel. I enjoy your videos, thank you for sharing.
Yeah, for what I'm trying to climb in Hong Kong and other places... The 4 speed even with a reduced chain ring was killing me haha
Congrats buddy with your dream Brompton!!
You called it on me getting a T Line a while back
Cracking bike. The 12-speed is a big advantage over the original 4-speed. I'll look forward to your further reviews on it. Cheers 👍
Thank you and definitely more content and reviews to come.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Oh my goodness! The dream bike 😍😍😍
Excited to climb all around the world with it!
Welcome to the T-Line Fam!!!
Thank you!!! It's been such a joy to ride.
When I got my Top, Flame Painted "SuperlightM6LXBrompton" in 2019, I at first wondered for what use I had the Low Gears, of my 6, till I met an absurdly steep hill in Denmark, and had to walk on top! But buying a bike for this one hill or two, may be a little too much?
By that, with a lot of modifications and extra Titanium and carbon Parts - what's left of the original bike (mostly the Frame, original fork and triangle!), today it weighs round 9 Kilo, with Mudguards! Near all the changeable parts, seat post, saddle, handlebar, nuts and bolts are now from titanium and carbon! Also the brackets on the mudguards and the front axle!
Finn. Denmark
And do find out to seal the Frame from the "strange openings" by the hinges, letting in dust and water to the fork, crank and bearings!!!! It is a major problem on the T-line. Finn. Denmark
Nice Bike,I have a Brompton Bear Grylls,Good Ride
Wow, I'm really happy for you (and jealous as hell)! Great unboxing/review. I bought the "Superlight" back in 2021, titanium forks & triangle. They rebranded it as the P Line because it's definitely not light. I lug it on and off the subway daily and it's not an easy task. I have my wife about 60% convinced that I need this "dream Brompton" as you say. I'm sure you'll be making a new video commuting on the Sound Transit East Link soon with your T Line & that will sway her!
I really appreciate your comment! :) I'll do my best to make this bike look as appealing as possible. Though, I do think moreover with transit usecases... I'll be trying to push the limit of having this be a epic travel "road" bike!
P Line is around 23lbs? I can't imagine 4lbs of weight savings would make the difference for getting on and off the train. I think you may just have gear acquisition syndrome 😅
@@LimitedWard Guilty as charged, yes (moving from 2-speed to 12-speed)! But 4lbs makes a huge difference in my opinion, especially with my toothpick arms. My Brommie feels like a steel bike. My carbon road bike, although it doesn't fold, is much easier to get on and off the metro weight-wise.
What a beautiful bike. I will be interested to hear your thoughts on whether the T Line feels stiffer than the ACP lines as others have commented. Incidentally that is my super-light Erin is working on when you first introduce him.
I definitely notice the difference in the carbon fork! I'll probably post a longer review video after I've ridden it more. That's awesome flame lacquer is beautiful
watching all your Brompton content, particularly the hills and tootling around pedestrian areas, makes me think every cyclist needs one in their stable! N+B?
I agree :) Though, it's probably about time for me to upload some more road bike content soon. It actually is still majority of my miles and the bikes I ride the most :P
Congratulations! The T-Line is awesome. I plan on getting one too. Thank you for weighing the bike for us too. Do you plan on doing any upgrades, like getting Hubsmith carbon wheels? Do you like the 12-speed? As a purist, I think I'd want my bike to have a single chainring up front, may a 52T - 54T, and then have 7 or 9 speed cogs in the back. I don't know. I'm confused. Not sure what to think of the Sturmey-Archer hub and having 2 different shifters.
No plans for drivetrain upgrades yet. I really like the 12 speed! Even with the overlapping gears, as a road cyclist it feels natural and a lot less shifting to get to a correct cadence. I think my use case of this Brompton being essentially a travel "road" bike is the main difference of why I have a positive look at the 12 speed versus the pure practicality of carrying it around / commuting shorter distances.

My wife has a 2015 M6L and is planning on having it fitted with a 14 speed Rohloff hub. There's a company called Kinetics in Glasgow Scotland who specialise in such work. It won't be nearly as light as the T line but it should be able to handle most if not all hills.
Hmm, I've been tempted to get a Brompton. And I'm across the lake from you.
Come join the fold! The Big Lake to Europe?
The much smaller lake to Seattle.
Go test ride some at Montlake Bicycles, REI or Folding Bike NW!! :)
Wish I had access to a bike mechanic that was that familiar and thorough with Bromptons. I met a titanium Brompton owner who thought that the light weight compared to his C-Line Explorer made the titanium model a bit dangerous/squirrelly on descents. Any thoughts on this?
I'm not sure what the exact cause is: my guess is actually that is the carbon fork that makes the t line slightly more twitchy than the c line. In my experience so far with going max speed of about 37mph... Nothing too sketchy. Though I don't like taking bromptons down bad pavement regardless.
These 12 speed Bromptons have been out for a couple months but I think this is the first English review I've seen. Only a few previews, usually saying it's not worth, sour grapes-style.
Yah they landed here in the USA mid April! I'm a bit late on the video :) thanks for watching
You saved 10% by buying it in Oregon too. A lot lighter of a bike compared to some of the other Bromptons.
Yes, plus the gearing! I'm planning on having this be my official travel "road" bike and see how that goes for me.
Would love to see how this baby is doing in the hills. Got a 6 speed one and won’t lie: not easy to fight gravity above a certain amount of degrees. Ok, I’m quite fat 🥴
You'll definitely see it join my steep brompton hill series!
@@BestSideCycling Yeah, thank you. Well, I’d love to give it a try with my less than favorable legs condition and gravity impact factor!
Hi, Just want to say Hi and I had a 12 speed T Line as well. I have to say it is one of the best ride you will ever have.
Been loving it so far! Thanks for the comment
Just got mine and love it especially the weight! Enjoy
Ive been wondering if I should spend the extra money or just get stronger lol
Sometimes it's not about strength XD grinding is hard yo! I can't do it :P
Friend! I am so happy for you! You can send me your older Brompton😜
Thank you :) Haha, once this channel gets big enough I wish I had Bromptons to give away.
@@BestSideCycling I really am happy for you! Brompton is way too expensive for my purse, so I'll stick with Tern! I love my Tern BYB 10 speed.
Are you selling your other bromptons? I’m in the market in Seattle
I have already sold one! I will probably be also selling my P Line in Hong Kong, but that might be a while. Feel free to connect with me on the Discord!
@@BestSideCycling How should I do that? I just looked and didn't see a server invite on your channel. Thanks!
It's in the video description @@jrmikulec
I'm trying my first 2day STP and couldn't imagine doing it in 1day let alone on a Brampton 😂
Hahaha it's going to be a fun one for sure, good luck with your 2 day!! Are you riding with anyone?
@@BestSideCycling thanks! I'm doing it solo since I don't have any friends that are into cycling yet. Good luck with your Brampton quest!
Boom..that looks awesome and wonderful bike but price $$ is just out of reach for most common folks. B bikes has been too pricey overall and there is nothing the company can do anyway...i trust their workmanship and quality... but i'm eyeing on Brompton clone later...looking at 7kg w/ alu/moly frame Aceoffix air..but can't buy it here in the US :(
thanks for sharing your video with your awesome-looking new Brompton...
Yeah, I agree... the Bromptons definitely come with a good price tag for the reputation"but also reliability of 7 year of warranty. Hope you find something that works, definitely harder here in the USA
What!? 1-day STP on this rig? Good luck!!! :D
Yesssss! Haha are you doing 1 day STP this year?
@@BestSideCycling Yes!! But on a "regular" bike! Lol
you have 3 bromptons now right?
That's correct. I have this t line and my bumble bee mid bar. Then a p line in Hong Kong. I've sold my other low bar c line. I'll probably sell the p line too
But how is it on the wrong way hill? 😂
This is worth a video. I'm pretty sure it'll crush it. I got as low as gears similar to my road bike now :P
It is a beauty! I just wonder how you can easily spent $6000 on a bike. For most people that is a four or five month salary. Not criticizing, just wondering 😊
I realize this is definitely a luxury and I am definitely grateful to have a job in technology that allows me to do this without being too irresponsible. It's also due to my life-stage, I'm married without kids. I'm sure once that changes, my spending habits on bikes will change.
4.5 ish grand here in the UK, I want one
@@bromptinowner763
I'm investigating how much I could get for my 2019 CHPT3 to help offset some of the cost of a T line...🤔
I hope the truck is all right that the camera ran into.
