      @@juliethehairapist i have a white birthmark so I did my test under that. I had to get Wella T14. I have dense coarse wavy/curly hair so I tested for 20 minutes.
      I can go longer and then tone with Ion Snow Cap?
      My hair is just as soft as normal. No noodles 😂
      It's a strawberry-ish blonde and blends ok with my white.

      The toners will not damage your hair you can do them as often as you want. Yes your coarse hair can be a little more difficult grabbing the color.

    I know near nothing about hair color except that I've been touching up roots for years. Now I'm ready to transition to silver. I have a good amount of silver rooting. Touch up the obvious.
    What IF... I used a direct dye (gentle means of lifting color :) ), and then I use a platinum toner!? I am medium brown now, only highlights have been done by sun.
    I'm excited for this change but I don't want to be hasty and do something harsh. Presently I started to use a demi root color, thinking I would highlight too. )I've watched your videos, purchased the dry bleach. Then I heard about direct dye and how gentle it is!) 🤷🏻‍♀️
    Thank you!!

    • @juliethehairapist
      @juliethehairapist  Před 10 měsíci +1

      @user-cj4tj2tx6c Great question, if your blonde is light enough then all you need is the silver toner (AKA Pravana Silver, etc) if it’s not light enough then you need bleach. If you send me pics of your hair I can give you better advice. juliethehairapist@gmail.com. Thank you for watching my super amateur videos ❤️

    Hi Julie, is direct dye better to use than color conditioner {color deposit only)?

    • @juliethehairapist
      @juliethehairapist  Před rokem

      @Lola yes because the conditioner dilutes the color and will make it wash off quicker. But if you want a less intense color and it wash off quickly then the color conditioner will be great. Hi Julie, thankyou so much for your tutorials. Very informative, very detailed and clear. Only thing is I’ve never heard of “direct dye”. Could you give me some examples in other brands which I could purchase? Btw, love, love, love your hair.

    • @juliethehairapist
      @juliethehairapist  Před 3 lety +2

      If you watch the What is a toner video I better explain the direct dyes. But basically the industry doesn't always label the color correctly. If the color has a developer it is permanent no matter what. Direct dyes do not have a developer, they are a what you see is what you get. When you see the wild colors like pink, purple, green those are direct dyes but for us transitioning they make silver. Which allows us to tone the blonde to silver and not mess up our natural color. Also they can be used often because they are like conditioner on the hair instead of a chemical and won't damage your hair.
      Pravana Vivids
      Matrix SoColor
      Pulp Riot
      These are some popular brands but all the lines make these colors and they even have brands in the grocery stores but just not a great selection.
      Thank you for your support!❤

    can you use highlight caps for highlight your hair. I think I can controled better

    • @juliethehairapist
      @juliethehairapist  Před 2 lety

      The problem with the cap is knowing what hair you're pulling through. If you're just lightening your hair it will be fine but if you're trying to match your natural streaks it will not be a good tool to use.

    You're the reason I've become brave enough to go gray- actually white. I have a 3 inch white donut. I've been covering the white with Roux Fanciful Steel Gray. I'd rather have gray roots then white. Does Roux Fanciful work the same as direct dye?

    • @juliethehairapist
      @juliethehairapist  Před 2 lety

      So happy you are freeing yourself from hair color. Yes Fanciful is one of the original direct dyes. What I don't like is how messy and fast they wash out. If you send me a pic of your hair I can help you find some more colors to use. juliethehairapist@gmail.com

    Would you use regular bleach on box color or a dye remover?

    • @juliethehairapist
      @juliethehairapist  Před 4 lety

      Yes/no it depends on what you're naturally and how dark you were coloring your hair. Color removers are great on light colored hair but if you are naturally light and coloring your hair dark it's not a good product to use because there is too much pigment on the hair and it can't get it light enough. Bleach is predictable that's why we use it for highlighting we can count on the outcome.

Love the way you came for all of US, you are special. I would like to know about the parte of dyeing that i still have some doubts. After the bleaching to light hair what is the Streep of dyeing with colour. Do we use the colour with Bleach or is there another way? Thanks you.
