    *I was diagnosed with BPPV by my doctor, but I couldn’t get in to see the physiotherapist for a month. My doctor informed me that on CZcams they show you how to do the manoeuvres. On my 2nd attempt I was successful, however I did feel a little wobbly for the next day or two.*

      The self-Epley is a great way to manage the condition at home! However, it's always good to check the technique with a physio/GP, becausess it is fairly technical. Well done!

    I have vertigo now and listening to this song:
    You spin me right 'round, baby, right 'round
    Like a record, baby, right 'round, 'round, 'round

    I was just diagnosed with bppv today and your video was a huge help in understanding it more. You mentioned about the neck, is that on the left or right? Thanks again for such an informative video.

      Hi Jeff, regarding the neck, it can affect either or both sides of the neck. Keep in mind, most people suffering from BPPV experience a "true" BPPV. So I would recommend that you start with the standard approach to treating it, and then if that is unsuccessful, it will be worth assessing your upper cervical spine.

    as of recently im having 6 of these attacks a day at random and unexpected times its so horrible and affecting my life a lot now. I will be sitting down and just look upwards or to the left and its triggered or walking along the street and itjust happens and the dizziness can last anywhere from 10sec to 1 minute. I am in the UK and they have given me betahistine 16mg but that is only for 7 days which helps alot and i think it has reduced the frequency of attacks but im worried what happens when the drugs finish because they are not intended for long term. Also when walking in a straight line i feel as tho i am moving slightly off towards the left i dont know if this is part of this condition.

      @@sajidkhanmahmood I have only been having symptoms for 2 days. I did the The epley manuver from home and it greatly reduced the dizziness however it’s still there slightly. If it persists for a couple more days I will be heading to a doctor as well

      Hi Sajid, I would definitely recommend you see your local physiotherapist to sort this issue out. Medications are not the most effective treatment, instead they are a band aid solution.

      @@brisbaneheadacheandmigrain3863 hi my initial post was a while ago and as it turns out my dizziness was from deficiency of folic acid which was totally depleted for some reason and I am on 5mg a day of folic acid atm which has helped me immensely and no more dizziness thanks for your concern and advice.

    What maneuver

    • @brisbaneheadacheandmigrain3863
      @brisbaneheadacheandmigrain3863  Před 3 lety

      If you see your local practitioner and ask about the "Epley manoeuvre", that is the manoeuvre that is most often used (posterior canal is most often affected). I hope that helps!

      @@brisbaneheadacheandmigrain3863 What is the success rate of the Epley manoeuvre long term? I had this a few weeks ago at my ENT, the symptoms lessened and now it is back again. I have found a few exercises to do which seems to help for a while but keeps coming back, and seems to be triggered by exercise.

      @@barewaliaboy249 Hey dude sorry to hear you’re dealing with this condition. For me it’s mostly gone now, comes and goes from time to time. The Epley technique definitely works, but you have to keep doing this everyday, twice a day for at least a few weeks until all symptoms of BPPV are gone. Other things that help are getting a good nights sleep and getting exercise. When I don’t get those it comes back. Hope that helps you.
