On Saturday I woke up 4:44am. I checked on my children and I heard a very low voice say Mom, it was my 11 year old he was in massive pain on his left side. He couldn't move his whole body, he could barley speak. I quickly gave him 2 motrin, sea salt and 2 potassium pills. Slowly he started getting his body back to function. I took him to e.r., by the time we got there,he looked 90% better.. The e.r. doctor says their is nothing wrong with him, he could've just been half asleep😮. This just happened, I didn't even want him to go to school. I've been doing my research. I am doing his health insurance for coverage. Then soon I will get him over to head consultation.. This is a very scary situation😢. I had no idea, this even existed.

Just realised i had a car accident 2 years ago and every since my headaches and dizziness/floating has been constant.. i did visit a doctor and he laughed it out saying this is not concussion, someone who has experienced concussion would have been unable to walk to his clinic :)

My PCP prescribed me a migraine medication today and ordered a MRI due to these symptoms that’s been going on for months but became incredibly intense. I also thought I was having a stroke due to sudden weakness and numbness on left side of body. Lot of visual distortions that seem like focal seizure symptoms and weird physical sensations. Sharp pains in head throughout day and severe pressure in head when laying down. I was actually diagnosed with narcolepsy with cataplexy a while back but my sleep study didn’t prove it. Now worried I have a brain tumor but could def be these weird migraines. I’ve had normal migraines in the past from concussions but they didn’t last for 2 months straight

If I do not have a headache specialist near me, should I see a neurologist or an orthopedist? or other?

I do not think it is always on one side. I think it can be both sides.

I just had one 2 nights ago, no pain at all when it happened. Couldn’t speak or move for 20sec and then my speech was bad for more than a day. I’m on day 2 after it happened and I still feel so slow and off, speech comes and goes, now I have a full headache and difficulty starting movements, specially with my hands. Anybody knows how long this last?! Please help! MRI came cleared but the ED doctor didn’t say what comes next or how long does it last :(

I suffer from these and the first one had me in the back of an ambulance and into an MRI. Because I have high cholesterol there is a little fear that these can be a mini-stroke. I am going to give up processed food and go completely plant-based. Familial. These are scary because I slur my words and people think I am drunk! I don't even drink any alcohol and am giving up coffee. Changing my diet I was told can help. Any little bit helps with these.

Can gallbladder like pain or appendicitis like pain be abdominal migraine? I can get severe pain or dull aches that leads to diarrhea or vomiting. I have a history of basilar migraine. Tests usually reveal nothing.

How does the Dr assess whether or not your brain stem is sensitive please?

Call it what it is, man! Get a Neurology referral. The other cause of this level of pain is an AVM. Get seen, by any means. Dude's lovely but not that helpful.

I know this video is old but hopefully you're still reading comments. I would like to know if it's possible to have both a migraine problem and occipital neuralgia. And if so, can occipital neuralgia attacks trigger migraines? Everything you described fits me to a T but the attacks last for hours or the entire day, leaving me bedridden due to the excruciating pain..can ON just last longer sometimes?

There is a surgery to decompress these nerves. It’s called an occipital nerve decompression and it is highly effective .

They're scary 😢 I have slurry speech drooling loss of vision and loud tinnitus along with strong nausea too! I have other conditions that flare up with it mainly Dystonia 😢

I have pain in my neck that transfers to the top of the head but I do not feel dizziness. Is this a cervigenic headache?

A bad headache, numbness, etc. They gave me a CT scan on the 26 of May and they said I was okay and that there was no sign of a stroke, but my numbness had been happening with minor head pain and dizziness. I’m told it’s not a stroke but I’m trying my best to believe that it’s not

This has got to be one of the most accurate and informative videos I have watched. I currently suffer from vestibular migraines and everything this video mentions is what I get. I go see my neurologist and get treatment but I don’t want to be on pills all my life. I am trying hard to stay positive and to be honest it helps me allot. But going to the shops or walking around fast can trigger my symptoms and many more things. I am glad that this video is out there if people want to understand what it is. I saw a neurologist who said i had a tension headache but put in a report I have a cervicogenic headache. Not the same thing!! I was in a car accident. Jaw broken in 3 places. Changed my bite. Thanks for video

Hello! Please help, i slept for a year or two sitting up with my head hanging forward. And i work sotting up at a xoputer 8 hrs a day. And in december, i got a headache pretty severe that would not go away w tylenol and lasted for almost 3 months w little releif. And now i had it go away for about 2 months, then i went to take my dog for walk outside and now my headaxhe is back. Uesterday it was bad and i felt confused and unable to focus and not my neck and into my head is not going away again. Doe this sound like cericoggenic?

I was diagnosed with this 3 years ago.I get a weakness down my left side and muscle twitches and dizzness and confusion that lasts about 15minutes then goes , this can happen up to 10 times a day.But I never get any pain.It leaves me feelikg like a zombie .

Thank you for a great clear explanation of what I’ve just had a Radio frequency ablation procedure to my greater occipital nerve …I had suicide nerve pain in my neck and healed for 18+ months as well as chronic neck pain due to a lot of degenerative issues including a fracture and so know I’ve had three procedures in three months where I had the c3-6 vertebrae injected and radio frequency pulse and then a moth later the occipital nerve and this week I had the c3-6 injected again and a full ablation of 90deg BBQ the nerve to give me longer pain relief …so grateful my neurosurgeon sent me to this amazing pain specialist. I was asleep for all procedures in day surgery and now looking forward to my first big holiday over seas in 33 years asa 60 th BD treat. It can sometimes be caused by swollen lymph nodes in the neck; super annoying and almost debilitating when it hits hundreds of times a day. 😞
