  • Okara Sesame Bars
Okara is a very versatile and not so well-known material. Also known as soybean pulp, it is left over after using soybean to make milk or tofu. In today’s video, Nok uses her own fresh okara to make a sweet treat known as dodol in Malaysia. Using natural brown sugar, sticky rice flour and margarine, then adding nuts and coating with roasted sesame, these are the perfect dessert and are great for tea/coffee time! Very natural and healthy. Enjoy!
    Brown sugar 100 g
Rice flour (glutinous) 50 g 100 gr firm
    Okara 150 gr (moist) pre-steamed 40 minutes
    Margarine 50 gr
Melt margarine, add brown sugar and melt, add okara…cook until dry
Dissolve rice flour in 50 ml water
Cook again until dry, add nuts
