  • The plaintiff says she met the defendant on Facebook and they became friends. She says they were at a club one night and police cars swarmed her friend and he went to jail, but she still doesn’t know why. She’s suing him for stealing her coat. The defendant says the plaintiff is an alcoholic who once passed out drunk at dinner with a famous music producer. He’s countersuing for defamation and emotional distress.

      Yep they both was wrong. He thought she stole his money so that’s why he took the coat to begin with. The editing on this particular case was not good. It was a 20 second clip explaining that’s why he took the coat. Although they did not get into that in this show I believe in the actual case they did. It’s no way Judge Mathis would had not went off on that brotha if he stole the coat for no reason.

    To think she did all that over a coat is wild. I feel like she lost her job because of illegally accessing the skip tracing system, not for not coming to work.. any system that has PII (personal identity information) in it tracks when and how users login. I think it was more to that situation that either of them are not speaking on, because ain’t no way you gone be calling some random family member of someone you don’t even know, to relay that information all over a coat that can be replaced.

    I feel that JM was dead wrong on this one. Defendant gives the Plaintiff $50 then she spends a year trying to get the rest of the money. She was wrong for speaking with the G-ma, but in her defense she thought she was calling the gf, which isn’t cool either. But dude stole the coat. Confessed that he no longer had the coat. Most likely sold it. But he gets 1k for being shiesty and she has to pay him because she chose to call someone unrelated. The entire case should have been dismissed.

      Twmp agencies do this all the time..your assignment is ended for missing work during a probationary period. It's very common. Texas is one of many At Will states. We Texans can be terminated At Will with minimal or no explanation.

    People are saying JM is wrong in this case. I strongly disagree. I would be upset if someone ghosted me after stealing. But to illegally use private government systems to find out peoples personal info and contacting people who aren't even the culprit is a crime that she could technically be criminally charged for. That's why she won but ultimately lost.

    So…according to the plaintiff, the defendant knows he’s going to jail as soon as the police pull up but tell the judge he was profiled- it’s possible but something doesn’t sound right. Then she says she lost her job for a man she barely knows…so no one else could bail him out? Their math isn’t mathing lol

    The judgment wasn’t fair if anything the grandmother should have filed for harassment against the woman he shouldn’t have gotten any money from her he stole from her and then ghosted her for a year yet he had intentions to pay her back for a coat that he stole because he thought she stole some money from his car his actions were spiteful at the end of the day and she deserves to go to jail for hers🤷🏽‍♀️

    FYI. It’s not called “profiling”. It’s called “racial profiling”. “Profiling” based on behavior is used by agencies as high-level as the FBI to track pathological criminals. It’s the way law enforcement should deal with the public. Behavior, not race or economic status.

    My thing is she already lost her job probably because she used the sytem for personal business and now she has to pay 1000 on top of already having lost her job. She already had her punishment this guy stole and tried to get away with it. The emotional distress should have been granted to both imo
