All of his live performances in Vegas are incredible. You need to check more of them out. Also Elvis had a fascination with martial arts at an early age and held a black belt in karate. Hence the incredible moves in this video. He was awarded the 8th degree black belt in 1974. You know I love me some Elvis AND you get to hear him say "thank you very much" in the end. RIP Elvis and Lisa Marie
Exactly. I remember seeing him talk about his black belt in interviews. He was proud of his physical ability. It makes what happened towards the end even sadder. Such a waste. Such a shame.
His torso was the reason Ed Sullivan ordered the cameras to show him only from the waist up. He seems so tame now but his movements were considered lewd back then. Wow, how things have changed in my lifetime!
@@karensilvera6694 yep. One of his best quotes is "if I can't move, I can't sing".
@@lorilashea oh my gosh. I completely forgot that line until you shared it. I was entering my senior year in HS when he died so I grew up with him.
@@karensilvera6694 I was in the 7th grade and living in Memphis. I loved him all my life and married into an EP freak family lol. They have so many stories, from my mother in law seeing him at a bowling alley and taking the butt of the cigarette that he put out (she still has it) and getting a pic with him to my husbands uncle just being at Graceland and Elvis drives in and he takes off running trying to meet him. And yeah, he got arrested but the charges were dropped. So many great stories that we all still talk about. Our love for his music has passed down to my daughter and 14 yo granddaughter who proudly wears her Elvis shirts to high school
I was just about to tell you about his karate. It's cool you research this info.
Elvis could add lib moves, and his drummer was always ready to play along, which added to the whole performance.
Elvis was in charge on stage. A lot of his hand gestures, moves and voice were actually Elvis imploring his band and singers to follow hm, especially his drummer. I was fortunate to have seem him live 5 times. His live shows were awesome.
Ronnie Tutt his drummer once said playing for Elvis was like playing for a Stripper, You had to watch every move and hit that beat. He and Elvis were so in tune with each other. I really liked your reaction. Please keep going deeper into the Rabbit Hole, You will truly be a fan when you have heard the early elvis , the middle Elvis, the soft and the gospel, and the Rock Ellvis . Again, Thank You .
@@susanhardy8554 They were also karate partners. Ronnie knew what Elvis wanted by his karate like moves.
I envy you. I had just graduated from college the year he died. My parents were both fans, so as a child I think they took me to all his movies. Even the worst of the movies (because the script was not good) had at least one or two good songs. The thrill of seeing Elvis sing to us in glorious Technicolor was worth the ticket price.
Ronnie, the drummer, was awesome in all the live concerts. He said in an interview that Elvis was like following a stripper. 😅He said you never knew exactly what Elvis would do. The whole band was terrific. ❤
Actually he was directing his band and back up singers with a look and hand gestures . He produced all his shows
He had a 8th degree black belt in karate. That's why he was so flexible.
That's why Elvis is the G.O.A.T ❤❤❤❤
They did those transitions during the song so effortlessly because he had certain signals he gave to the band while the song was being performed. They knew that they always had to keep their eyes on him at all times, because he'd change things up on the spur of the moment. Notice the connection with him and his drummer. The dance moves he'd do were kind of like a challenge between the two of them. And for every move Elvis made there was a beat of the drum. He kept them all on their toes! Love watching Elvis, his band, and back up singers perform!!
So true!!!
What made him so great you ask - he had everything the looks, voice, moves, soul, rhythm, natural musical talent, and charisma off of the charts.
Elvis basically invented Vegas residency.
It's not just his voice though, he was a brilliant arranger and arranged a lot or most of his stuff. As well as his own moves and the way he interacts with his amazing band and if you look at behind the scenes footage, they work really hard but they're really close knit and they have a lot of fun and they prank each other and it was just a wonderful phenomenon.
He died 2 yrs after I was born, but I've always been fascinated with him. He just had the entire package. Looks, height, body, voice and most of all charisma. He owned whatever room he entered. Great reaction, loved it!! ❤
Elvis controlled and responded to his band and back-up singers with every movement of his body ... look at the smiles on all their faces ... they all loved and respected each other ! Lots of interviews with the "Sweets" and his band saying how much fun they had working with with him , not for him ... TCB forever !
Ronnie Tutt, the drummer, said it was like drumming for a stripper- you had to watch him because the movements changed at will. Someone said he was lipsyncing this song, but that’s just silly - you can hear him dropping a word or syllable here and there, and his breathing…, and you don’t take your eyes off of Elvis, because he’s always doing something unexpected. Dancing - Return to Sender, Mean Woman Blues, what’s the song from Fun in Acapulco where he plays bongo drums?
He had a black belt in karate. That is why he was flexible.
Why was he great? Talent, charm, charisma, looks, kindness, generosity, ground breaker, catalyst of social change.
You can never deny the Voice this man had.. just Amazing
Not only was he a great singer and performer but he loved doing it. They all loved him. He was fun.
Love this performance. Elvis was best looking man ever!!
Thank you for reacting to Elvis’s music. Elvis didn’t think he’d be remembered. I’m at the age where I was blessed to be able to attend two of his live concerts. I was extremely young, 6 years old and then again at 8. It always touches my heart when this younger generation discovers Elvis.
This is why I think artists are crazy. CZcams keeps them relevant for years.
I was 10 abd 11.
@@coollady2179 I meant in general. But there are many youth that had not heard Elvis.
@@polocash11 What's wrong with great artists being remembered? No matter their medium.
@@jenniferlloyd9574 nothing
Elvis was loved because he was the first prominent singer that also entertained. He was in so many movies, in a short period of time, that everyone knew who he was. He was huge. I remember that we used to have this show on Saturday afternoons, called The Wide World of Sports. All kinds of different sports were aired. One Saturday, Elvis had shown up at one of the sports venues. The network cut away from the event, because Elvis had agreed to do a mini impromptu concert. It was crazy. His presence in the world, was many times greater than what we're seeing from Taylor Swift right now. Then, all the sudden, one afternoon, he was dead. Shocked the whole world.
There was NO ONE like him. He had charisma, talent and the looks! He was also very humble and generous. ❤❤
He WAS freaking AWESOME!! Great reaction! I saw him live 13 times, 10 in Vegas in 1970. He was absolutely the best I ever experienced. And he was even more handsome and charismatic in person. He talked to people in the audience and his musicians and backups loved him. Thanks for this one!❤❤❤
Hey Jenny, I never really listen to anyone but Seph bc he does Elvis everyday and is awesome but I was missing me some Elvis since he has been sick. Miss you guys. 😊
@@Barbara-lb5yt,awwww, thanks, Barbara. I miss Seph so much and his family of Elvis fans. He is just the best and can't wait for him to get healthy and having fun with us again. I love us!!!❤❤❤
@@jennyjorgensen9935 I still cannot believe that you saw him so many times. You are so lucky!! I am so jealous. If you don't mind sharing something personal, were you a teenager at the time, did you scream and pull your hair out? I would have been 10 and I often wonder how I would have reacted seeing him live at that age. At my age now, I go bonkers!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All I got to do was watch his movies and listen to his records and I was swooning. 😰 ♥
@@Barbara-lb5ytI was 21 when I saw him in Vegas with my 2 sisters( 24, and 25). We had front row seats and got kisses at every show and he recognized us and talked to us every time. I was so excited that I couldn't eat during the dinner shows. Yes, we were jumping up and down and acting crazy. He thought we were funny. The other 3 concerts, I was married and they were all in Iowa( Des Moines and Ames). I had to behave a bit more with my husband, though he is a fan, too.😂😂🤣
@@jennyjorgensen9935 WOW!!!!!!!! Unbelievable, just WOW....WOW....WOW.....Everyone that loves Elvis that was alive then or was born later wishes so much that we could see him live. I know we are not suppose to be jealous.....but I am forever jealous of you. I would have grabbed him by the back of his head at 21.......girl !!!! 😍😭😰
Elvis Presley was and is still out of this world.... stunning beauty, gift-of-a-voice, physicality, generosity, natural talent...and the list goes on. He was Shazam and Superman combined 🔥💯⚡❤️
Elvis was a black belt that’s how he can move like that! Love this!!
Elvis began Karate in the Army and studied martial arts the rest of his life. Became a 9th degree black belt. His band were highly regarded top studio musicians and orchestras. He could afford them, and got the top talent. Please react to him introducing his band members.
I lived in Memphis when Elvis died, I was 19 and the whole city shut down. You should watch "Long Black Limosine" it shows the funeral possession, people were passing out and Memphis ran out of flowers. It was insane.
Thank you for playing Elvis music and helping to keep his legacy alive.
Elvis was super fit at these Vegas concerts. He worked out with weights on his ankles and wrists. He also practised karate. He brings his karate moves into his shows. This concert was in 1970.
Elvis took karate seriously and used it and dancing from his movies in his acts.
Elvis was a soul man in a white body!
Ain't nobody got moves like Elvis. ❤
He was partial to the black community. He had many black friends as he grew up and he admired and respected black artists.
He loved his band. It really shows.
اعظم فنان على مر العصور لم ولن يتكرر الملك بدون منازع
Great reaction! Many years of Karate contributed to his flexibility. Saw him in Hollywood, FL Feb 1977 when I was 12 with my parents who were huge fans as well (6 months before his death), although slower still put on a great show, especially with that voice. He will ALWAYS be the KING!
He magnetic and electrifying. He changed music forever
Elvis really loved his band and backup singers. R.I.P. Ronnie Tutt. One of my favorite drummers.
I love Elvis he has the best voice I have ever heard ❤️❤️❤️❤️💯
The MOST beautiful man in the universe……..and, his talent was OUT OF THIS WORLD❣️😘❤️🥰 God created Elvis and then broke the mold❣️❣️❣️
Elvis was and will always be the best, beautiful generous soul. You should watch some of the videos about his giving and kindness
The Greatest of all time! ❤❤❤❤❤
This men is the best ever ever❤❤
His baritone voice was amazing!
Thanks for your reaction.
Elvis was born on January 8, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi, in a 2 room shack of a house his dad built with money he borrowed from his boss. That's how dirt poor they were. He was one half of identical twins; the other boy - Jesse Garon - was stillborn. They were so poor, that Jesse Garon was buried in a shoebox in an unmarked grave. At Graceland they have a plaque with his name on it in his memory.
Elvis always got along with the black community and learned a lot about music from his friends of color. Also, according to the one drop rule, Elvis would not be considered white, since he has Cherokee ancestors on both the Smith (his mother) and the Presley (his father) sides of the family. His paternal grandfather, Jesse Dunning Presley, was not happy that his two sons, Elvis' father Vernon and his brother Vester, married two sisters, Gladys and Clettes who were known to have Cherokee blood in their family tree. J.D. Presley was quite the racist a-hole, often drunk and a philandering husband to Minnie Mae (they were actually separated long before they finally divorced in 1954) who was always competing with his sons Vester and Vernon and who was known to abuse his kids when drunk. J.D. was was publicly against race mixing and was in denial about the Cherokee blood in his own family tree. It was more publicly known that the Smith family had Native blood in their family tree, so when both his sons fell for 2 Smith sisters and Vernon, on top of that, was still a minor at 17 when he eloped with Gladys who was 4 years older than him, Jesse was totally pissed off.
As a child, Elvis already had many friends in the black community at the time his family was one of 4 "white" families that lived in the predominantly black neighborhood The Hill, just across from Shake Rag. His childhood friend Sam Bell said that some of the (black) kids in that neighborhood had lighter skin than Elvis (czcams.com/video/LrFCyNMvZWk/video.html). One of Elvis' bodyguards once said that he thought it was a miracle Elvis got into Humes High School in Memphis, because it was "lily white". Elvis wanted to be more open about his Native ancestry, but his manager "colonel" Tom Parker (real name Andreas van Kuijk) was against it because he was afraid it might cost Elvis fans (and himself money). They did have Elvis play characters in his movies though where he had Native American blood (Flaming Star, G.I. Blues, Stay Away Joe). Once Elvis had his own (apprentice) job learning to be an electrician, he saved up his money and bought his clothes in the same style that many of his friends of color wore. He was called a (forgive me, just stating facts here) "n-lover" and got beaten up several times too. Later, when he was an established star, he would not perform at places where the members of color of his back-up band/orchestra weren't allowed.

Elvis war und ist immer noch ein Gigant in der Unterhaltungsbranche 🙏🙏🙏😍
His female background singers were called the Sweet Inspirations..... one member was Cissy Houston, Whitney's Mom.
I frequently pass over your reactions until I see an Elvis one. My passion started 65 years ago at the age of five when I first saw him on my black and white TV. It was the most magical moment I can even remember how I felt I’ve seen Elvis live in concert, and Fax saw him doing this song, suspicious minds. He has been the greatest inspiration in my life a true hero to me now my son and my granddaughter Loves Elvis. Been to Elvis’s house many times. Hopefully we’re all going as a family again next year to take the grandchildren to be an Elvis fan to understand if there’s really no explanation possible unless you feel it. It must be Magic 65 years of past, and I feel the same way. I just love this human being with such passion. God bless you happy holidays.
@Sebs- One of Elvis's greatest performances ever with Suspicious minds. This was Elvis in vegas in 1970. The main reason why Elvis is the greatest ever is bc of his voice, Stage presence, Carisma, and Entertaining aspect. I reccomend you. react to Elvis performing the song Polk salad annie.
Elvis had the voice, moves and looks. He also had a great core band drummer was kick butt awesome, yhen James Burton on guitar, along with the background singer's and the horns.
He was into martial arts. Thus the flexibility. If you haven't yet, check out videos of him in the 1950s.
Beautiful simply beautiful love it. No one can put on a show like Elvis
People talk about Elvis's vocal abilities. The praise is well deserved. Yet his ability as a musician, and his dancing isn't highlighted that often. You could enjoy his performance with a sound off because he adds so many extra elements to it.
Elvis first concert he moved like that his voice his moves his passion for his music and his fans me and my mom got to meet him in person such a sweet man
Elvis was a seventh degree black belt. Why he was so "movable!"
Not only was & still is the best voice in music, he, by the same right, is as equal of an entertainer! He was a double threat!!! No one will ever be better than Elvis!!!
👑 ELVIS ✌🏻🇺🇸
What make him so great: voice, best singer ever, could sing everything, Charisma out of this world, rhythm, dance moves, Looks, Kindness, he shared his wealth like nobody else! Great reaction
There is a treasure trove of videos out there of Elvis in Vegas, moving and grooving! Have fun on your journey! You'll be hooked!
I saw Elvis, Live at Notre Dame the year before he died…I was 8, but it was unforgettable. Elvis was a tremendous talent…and incredible showman. “Suspicious Minds”, “Can’t Help Falling in Love” and “Return To Sender” are my 3 favorites and he performed them all 🤍😀
Totally Agree❣️😘❤️
He gave all he had. He left it all on the stage. And Elvis had so much more to give than any other entertainer. That's why he will always be known as the King. Elvis was, is, and always will be the GOAT (greatest of all time).
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Elvis was definetely one of a kind. Fell in love with him as a teen ager when he put out his first record.... still love him... glad you are enjoying him as much as we did.... do❤
FREAKN FIIIIRE!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Elvis is still the Goat
No matter how many times I watch this it's like new every time ! 😊 great reaction !❤
I’ve watched so many videos about him and there is one thing for certain that man was put on this earth to entertain. He was one of a kind…probably the most famous entertainer and yet he thought he’d be forgotten, was incredibly generous (highly recommend watching a video called 200 Cadillacs about his generosity) and his talent was unreal. Imagine going to a show and seeing that quality of a performance without lip syncing.
I'm 48... My Grandma was 18 in 1955. She LOVED Elvis. Because of her I grew up to also love his music, movies. Everything. The Elvis rabbit hole runs very deep
*ELECTRIFYING * CHARISMA * HUMOR * ETC ETC WHAT IS THERE NOTTTTT TO LOVE ABOUT ELVIS!!!!!! LEGEND!!!! IT STARTED WITH THIS BEAUTIFUL MAN INSIDE AND OUT - SO LOVING - LOVEDDDDDD HIS FANS TCB BAND SWEET INSPIRATIONS IMPERIALS STAMPS -- ETC
Elvis was the consumate performer, always in control, and he loved his people and his fans. He was ❤ and 🔥
Elvis loved Gospel music and the men back up singers were a gospel quartet. You can watch on CZcams a Video from PBS about his love of Gospel music. He had trouble sleeping and he and the quartet and others would sing for hours with sometimes Elvis playing the piano.
my dad had tickets to see Elvis in Las Vegas but right before that show Elvis had passed away unfortunately....he worked his love for martial arts into his stage performances....yes he had a legit martial arts belt
I read that one time a guy ran on stage and Elvis's bodyguards had to stop him because Elvis is a black belt and could have did some damage to the guy.
honorary black belt.
They were not honorary. Quit lying
@@christielysdale1815 you clearly know nothing about martial arts. Elvis was and only ever will be an honorary black belt. In order to get a real black belt, combat WILL! be required. Now, since the colonel was never going to allow anyone to ruin the face of the goose that laid his golden eggs, Elvis will only ever be HONORARY! get used to the truth and grow up.
Elvis RIP 💗💙💜❤Your music lives on.
not his music.
Nobody in this world like him, EVER. He is the G.O.A.T
All these years later. No one comes close to Elvis. I saw him in Los Vegas about
this same time. My mother left this show being a convert. If you knew my mother
this was huge. He is still the best. Great reaction.
His music will live on forever, and so will Freddie Mercurys music. They are the best
Oh my God !!! He is so good ❤ purely Awesome sensational ❤ there is no other like Elvis ❤ he is voice is magical gold and unique ❤❤❤ yes and the way he moves is just electrifying.. he so natural gorgeous beautiful Elvis ❤❤ always love him ❤❤❤💙💘💔👑💋🌹
I have been an Elvis fan for 55
years. His fans meant everything to him. When he performed live he gave it his all for his fans.
*TRIVIA :* At the end of the video, Elvis disappears in the dark and returns wearing a different Jump Suit. The story goes that Elvis did two shows a day in Vegas and somehow the endings of the two shows got switched during editing. No one caught it until it was to late and the rest is History.
They say only 10% of the people who watch the video catches the change.
I love your reaction on this i think we can clearly see why is the best performer of all time!
He had so much talent. Hod given talents. He was so poor he couldn’t get formal music lessons. He learned by ear which a lot of the greats have done. He could go from baritone up to tenor and even falsetto in one phrase or verse. His ballads, were so calming,I play them to sleep on my playlist. He did soo many movies, that his songs range from lullabies to rhythm and blues. He could dance and his live performances were out of this world. I’m going to check your back lists so I don’t recommend something you’ve done already. I’m also subscribing to your channel to check it out ❤❤😅😅😊😊🎸🕺🏻🎸🕺🏻🎤🎤🎄🎁🎁🎅🏼🎅🏼
The KING. Love your reaction. More please 💕💕💕💕
Our Beautiful Elvis worked so hard to give us everything he had and more... sigh.👏💖💋
American Trilogy and Polk Salad Annie are two of his best live performances.
Love, love, love your reactions to the first time seeing Elvis in motion. He had it all, the whole package. As an Elvis fan for over 60 yrs I am so excited that people like you are rediscovering a true icon. He left us a huge legacy. There are some good songs in his movies. Check out the intro to King Creole Crawfish and the whole concert from Aloha from Hawaii, the 1968 Comeback special and all the Las Vegas tour. His versatility is amazing. Always in sink with his musicians. Didn’t write his music but he produced it. His band responded to his movements and incredible voice. More Elvis please.
We were privileged to see him live in Philly... Unforgettable experience.
Elvis's amazing performance aside, let's also appreciate his band, and back up singers... Amazing!
Forever and always THE KING.
My mother was an avid Elvis fan. I remember her crying all day when he died. She got to see him again October 28th, 2022.
The KING- the leader of the band. The master of ceremonies. The ring leader. There will NEVER be another like him.
My mom saw Elvis live 4 times. Greatest performer ever.
One of my favorite performances of his!! He's the epitome of an entertainer. ❤❤
Elvis had it all… in spades. If anybody ever deserved to be a superstar he did.
He was a black belt at Karate 🥋
AS A PRESLEY MYSELF .MORE ELVIS MORE LIKES
You definitely need to watch the live of' Bridge Over Troubled Waters ' Goosebumps all the way!!!❤👑❤️💯💯💯
You should really check out some of his earlier ones in the 50s and 60s. He was getting big in the 50s and he was drafted in 1958. He served from ‘58 to ‘60 and then picked up where he left off. He was actually on the Ed Sullivan show early on in black-and-white, and they were only allowed to film him from the waist up because of his moves!
You should see ‘68 comeback, “all shook up” and jailhouse rock, I think from the 50’s. He’s AMAZING!!!!
Yes, YES!! Everybody who worked with Him on stage was having the greatest time, everytime!! According to their own words.. Elvis was a purist performer...
Elvis did karate for many yrs. but also he was only 35 in 1970 & in good physical shape -- no reason not to be flexible, unless you're overweight & out of shape. This was his first tour of Vegas beginning in the summer of 1970. I grew up w-him, listening to his records & seeing him on TV since 1954 at age 11. I too miss VHS tapes & held on to my collection -- 45 of them w-the hopes of converting them to DVDs.
SOME BACKGROUND INFO for thIs song: Written by Mark James in '68, it is based on one night when James was fooling around on his guitar & came up with what he thought was a catchy melody. At the time, he was married to his first wife but still had feelings for his childhood sweetheart, who was married back in Houston. James' wife had suspicions about his feelings. He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of."
I am unable to be a patreon but am going to throw out some suggestions anyway: The water throwing incident from 1972 Hampton Roads, Virginia when at the very, very start of the video Elvis called out “Please Release Me” but the band began playing “I Can’t Stop Loving You” - he didn’t stop them, he went right into the song, he then walked over to his glass of water, picked it up & playfully threw it at Glen @ piano -- a fun, energetic, powerhouse, his voice just a bit deeper & richer at czcams.com/video/LNtP5Gd8QGE/video.html -- make sure you hear him say Please Release Me & then note his slightly irritated look @ beginning.
2 from '68 special "Blue Suede Shoes" from sitting to center stage w-a cute finish czcams.com/video/Ak5KEbi8Nac/video.html & "Jailhouse Rock" czcams.com/video/87N6Qa0D7KY/video.html (very different than the rehearsed choreographed version of his film). This is Elvis unleashed, doing what he did best Both videos togethe total just 4 min. so you could do one then follow it w-the other.
Elvis had the best of the best-- musicians, singers. He knew what he needed & everything & everyone fit together perfectly. It's unfortunate that music doesn't seem to include thse amazing instruments we grew up with.
Elvis got his black belt in 1960 and continued to practice..
I went and saw the movie.. have to say Austin Butler did some justice .. incredible that he was singing himself... I know he won the Golden Globe.. he should have won the Oscar.. he immersed himself into Elvis's life for 2 yrs.. I was raised on Elvis.. and I loved the movie.
He was one of the kindest people around! If he seen you needed something he would buy it and give it to you. They said he found out through a guy that worked for him that a families house had burned down two days before Christmas. So he personally went and had the stores stay open after their closing hours, and he went in personally and bought things for the family clothes and things that they would need and Christmas present everything. He then went and had someone go and rent them a nice apartment and had it furnished for them. Then he told the person that he sent to tell the family about the apartment and the gifts and told them not to tell who it was from. He also over the years they say, gave away multiple Cadillacs and other cars to people that needed vehicles. The lady that was his housekeeper he bought her a nice house and gave it to her just because he appreciated her. He was very kind and generous. And he had a very strong faith in God. You should check out his How Great Thou Art ! It is beautiful!
He was and still is the greatest of all time to me. Me and my sister saw "Elvis" “The Wonder of You” in Malmö Arena, Sweden 12th of may 2016, with Priscilla as a host, she came out on the stage 3 times and talked about Elvis...there is no one like him, thats it!
As a kid I loved watching Elvis movies on a Saturday afternoon.. he was an amazing performer..😊
