My favorite Wolverine era as well. Hama & Silvestri made a great team! My favorite part of including the MCP issues is seeing the Sam Keith covers! And you’re right, it’s funny how reading these stories again takes you back to where you were when you first read them
I've not read this but I love hearing the passion and genuine love Omar has not only for this but all comics.

Good times! I still have my single issue of wolverine 50. Read these histories remembers me of childhood, reading and having a good time. Also I like more wolverine when he didnt have a past.

Dang it Omar I told myself that i was going to pass on this and stop at Omni2, but seeing you run through it brought back so many great memories (even though there were some issues I missed back in the day). Great review. Even though this reprints comics from 1990-1993 its got the Marvel art style i love from circa 1986-1989. Quite detailed, nice shading. I’m not even a big Wolverine fan but this is a pre-order book for me.
Wolverine #53 with Mojo lifting up a battered Wolverine on the cover was my first Wolvie comic. Cant wait to read it again!

The big change in 75, cut to the danger room and Jean is like get him out of there! And the big reveal on his knees blood everywhere..that’s my X-men!

I really liked this run more than I thought. Even though, the Elise Dee and Albert characters got ran their course for me, I will have to flip a coin between the Lee and Silvestri covers.
i think with vol. 4 release I'll be done collecting Wolverine solo series. Can my mind be changed? yes.

WOLVERINE! Great review! Any chance you can get Marvel to put out a Marvel Universe by George Perez? An example they could include would be X-men annual 3 with a unique wolverine costume, `nuff said.

7:30 YESS, that would have been so cool, you have 2 variant covers, it would have been perfect to use that cover for one of the varients on the omnibus! specially with what they eventually used, this would have been a superior choice
Off topic...but I remember it talked about in the live stream about John Byrnes Next Men. I found it at my lcs and half was the original dark horse tpbs and 1 idw color tpb. I will say this: I love it so far! Also comparing the dark horse and idw versions, the idw is much superior. The paper is more newsprinty with really helps the colors and line work. And they include the covers which dark horse dosnt. If this gets reprinted I hope it's by idw!
I have the goon ( a bunch of old crap books ) I was wondering if you knew if those are pretty much the same as the library edition ones ? Also I’m happy with the soft cover bunch of old crap 1-5, but do you think I should upgrade to library edition ones ? Just wondering what you think, thanks 👍
I want a Gambit Omnibus so bad. They can get some Uncanny in there with both Mini series and 90's run probably.
Why is the artwork in the Bloody Choices story not oversized? Did they lose the original artwork or something? That bothers me.

I really want a Sentry omnibus. The original series, the Sentry Reborn series, the 2018 Jeff Lemire series, and maybe some of his appearances in New Avengers, Dark Avengers, Siege, Uncanny Avengers, Doctor Strange by Cates, and King in Black. Idk how many issues total that would be but I can’t imagine it would be any bigger than some of these other 1250+ page books.
This should be Marvels quintessential for Omnibus presence from this point on.
Pretty stoked for this release. Was never really a big Wolverine fan before I got the first two volumes but I've grown on him ( _honestly, I'm more a fan of Laura Kinney stories over James Howlett's_ ).
I have that first DM cover (the one he has there) preordered from cheapgraphicnovels along with Ultimate Spider-Man vol 2. Hopefeully they'll get here by the end of the month (geez!).
I got this yesterday, a perfect omnibus with everything from that era included; Hama, Silvestri, Keith, Colan, Buscema, Romita Jnr, Lee, all the crossovers, one shots and specials are in there. Such a shame Marvel didn't have the same attitude to X-men Omnibus 5, that could've been the greatest of them all but they left a third of it out

Do you think there will ever be an omnibus, deluxe or gallery focused on the Wolvie-centric X-Men issues like 162, 205, 211-214, 251, and 268? Plenty of others I'm forgetting but you get the idea.
I know they did an Adamantium Collection years ago with similar content but it was stupidly huge and had those dumbass distracting borders on the right and left of every page.
I started collecting the epics from this era.
May have to grab this as well for the oversized art work.
On another note does anyone know which omnis are getting a restock/reprint? I'm trying to prioritise which titles I buy.
For marvel? There are lots. I may make a video if given the time talking about the schedule.

I jumped into comics in this era, Wolverine #44 was my first of this series, I still have most of the issues. In hindsight the Weapon X sequel hasn’t aged well - the Shiva character seems pretty lame for a conclusion. Other than that, still love most of Hama’s run.
Is this a good book to jump in and read Wolverine for the first time?

90"s X > 2020's X
I'm a 90's kid but got into spidey during his ultimate run. Looking to get into some 90's x-men, would wolverine omni 3 and/or 4 fit the bill? I know it's more 80's but 80's also influenced the 90's X-Men TAS.
I guess if you’re only interested in Wolverine. I’ve heard that for a good 90’s X book, X-Factor by Peter David is where is at. However that’s more like B/C list characters. I’m no expert, but since you mentioned ultimate Spider-Man, I’d think something like New X Men by Morrison would be more your alley (not 90’s though, more like early 2000).
Looks awesome, but I'm disappointed that they didn't include the Sam Kieth Wolverine story from the Charleston's Chew Marvel Collector's Edition giveaway one-shot. Maybe in the next Wolverine Omnibus, hint hint, Marvel?

@@NearMintCondition it would be very weird if there was a licensing issue. It wasn't like a Hostess ad where the characters constantly reference the product. Marvel could very easily remove the Charleston Chew logos from the covers (and take out the images of Charleston Chew bars from the trivia question pages if they were to include those).
But then again, I'm not sure if any other Marvel comics released as part of a promotion with some product have been collected.

Hey Omar, is it still possible to enjoy this volume without having read the first two volumes? Missed out on Vol.1 before it went out of print again and may purchase Vol. 2 soon.
I would say you could drop right in. Wolverine spends less time in Madripoor and he rejoins the X-Men proper after the events of X-Tinction Agenda and Muir Island Saga bring all the dispersed members back together. It’s a great jumping on point.

They changed it to this cover a few months ago.
So many potential dm covers… I think this is a rare omni marvel missed the boat and chose some underwhelming covers, respectfully imo. #48 would’ve been nice
Ok for someone who wants to get into comics again after almost 15 years of being out of them. Doesn’t matter dc or marvel which Omni should o go after first? And yes I already read crisis on infinite earths!
Uncanny volume 1, Annihilation, Gotham central, Batman Snyder Capullo, venom by cates, spiderman by JMS, Superman by Tomasi, Daredevil by Bendis and silver surfer by Slott. Those are just some recommendations.

Why does Marvel keep screwing over the folks that preordered first prints out the gates (as Omar says we need to do to get more volumes) by changing spines on reprints and new volumes going forward? I’m annoyed with this, and setting up for more disappointment with Uncanny 5

I’m going to just say. That lots of people don’t care. Some people don’t even want me to talk about the paper as it’s a waste of time. I do it because there are people that do. You can’t assume because you and a group of people think it’s a serious issue you speak for the majority, but you aren’t. I see all the comments and feedback. And I always mention the paper. As I mentioned in this overview the paper stock is thicker here than the Donnelly printer Ultimate Spidey 2.
