    As a citizen of the USA I’m always so embarrassed when anyone from the US doesn’t do their homework when visiting another country; then break the rules and make us appear ignorant.

      G’day again, John. I loved the horse to tourist nudge & rubs @ 3:36 & again @ 4:26. The disregard of the “no touch” sign is infuriating. I wonder why the guard does not say something, especially after the USA couple were so blatant. I really would like to see the guards speak out to the ones who violate the rules, as they did when folks would grab the reins. Thanks for this and all your videos, Sir.

      only if the tourists realize these are soldiers in ceremonial dress with their military mounts performing a military duty - you can tell a police dog on duty and made aware of that fact by the officer handling it not to approach or touch it - something that has been lacking at Horse Guards for some time and now in the process of correction - the sooner the better imho

The tourists are following the signs instructions, the Guards are more vocal about correcting the tourists and the horses are more relaxed. By the way, the United States doesn’t want to claim those 2 tourists. The woman was obnoxious, rude, and ignorant. Anyone else want them? 😳😂

    In the case of the Chinese/Korean tourist petting the horse, to be fair the horse was nudging her first. I think perhaps that is why the trooper didn’t say anything. When she put her arm around its head, he pulled the reins away. This horse is lovely- sets his own limits. I apologize on the behalf of Americans for ignorant tourists such as the ones displayed later in the video. So embarrassing. By the way, I predict 100k before Christmas. Congratulations on 80k. I love watching most dads! It remains no secret moms are used to chasing down, catching and organizing the family but so many dads look like they are lost and seeking permission. Time for more activities as families instead of work till you die. What a dream

    I am wondering why they don't have a no touch sign on both sides of the arch? That could help cut down on folks touching the horses.

    I don't get why some of the guards allow the touching, this sends mixed messages to the public. The signs are a waste if the guards don't take on the responsibility of enforcing the rules.

    Those horses initially looks like they want to interact with the people around them on their own terms. The tourists seem to be a lot better behaved in as much as there’s no crowding round, they seem to be keeping their distance. But how do you stop the horse who wants to interact from interacting?

  • @battles146
    @battles146 Před 19 dny

    both regiments are First the King's personal Guards, Secondly they and their superiors represent all of Britain and it's 300+ years of history - these guards are army soldiers chosen to perform ceremonial duty for a certain period of time - if their superior officers have said 'it's up to a guard's discretion' to follow or not follow a Rule when at Horse Guards, then remember that when they return to active military duty - some of these guards are just plain lazy, too loose of a rein allowing contact when tourists stand too close, not paying attention to the real or anticipated interactions between tourists and their military mount, staring off in space or looking like they're trying to take an hour's nap - if they and their superiors are unwilling - for whatever reasons - to enforce their own Rules and have consistency, then take the signs down and let it return to it's free disrespectful petting zoo as it was before, and bear the consequences - my rant for the day 😠

      @@richardwest6358 learn how to research so as to not show ignorance -
      The Household Cavalry was formed by the union of the two most senior regiments in the British Army, the Life Guards and the Blues and Royals, and is divided into the Household Cavalry Regiment and the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment. Both regiments have a long and distinguished history; the Life Guards were formed as the bodyguard of King Charles II while in exile on the continent in the 1600s, eventually escorting him back to England for the restoration in 1660.
      After World War II, a mounted squadron was formed from each regiment to be stationed at Hyde Park Barracks in London to carry out ceremonial duties, now known as the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment. These duties include the daily King’s Life Guard, which provides mounted and dismounted sentries at Horse Guards, the official entrance to St James’s and Buckingham Palace.
