How Concrete is Making You Sick

The purpose of this project was to educate the audience on the dangers of leaving bare concrete (polished, sealed or otherwise) in high traffic areas where food and biological waste are present. We discussed where the industry is at in regards to flooring and how the use of bare, polished, or sealed concrete in grocery stores is spreading dangerous pathogens. Finally, we illustrated why resilient floors should go over concrete in these types of environments.

Hello great video. If I wanted to do concrete counter tops what do you suggest I seal them with? This video has me scared lol. I really want to have concrete counter tops but I don't want to get sick from them.

There are bunch of sealers on the market that can be used. That being said, I don’t recommend concrete for kitchen countertops, with or without sealers.

So true. Even densifiers with anti microbial additives cant seal a sponge. Hence why u dont see polished concrete in hospitals or clinic rooms.
