  • This 1-hr webinar introduces students to the concept of applying the basic techniques to analyze a failed reinforced concrete structure. The ultimate objective of this webinar is to review how the degradation of the reinforced concrete structure (exposed steel and concrete) impacts the stress concentration, allowable load, and running room of the following concrete structure.
    Learning Objective 1 - Review basics and discuss to design process for a reinforced concrete beam;
Learning Objective 2 - Review the failed structure, collect information, list assumptions, and identify purpose of analysis; and
Learning Objective 3 - Apply basic techniques of Reinforced Concrete Beam Analysis to the failed structure in order to evaluate the change stress concentration, allowable load, and running room from the original concrete structure.

I am but a lowly homebuilder but I enjoyed the passion in this presentation. Learned a few things too. Thank you!

Why do you reckon them thickening beams are damaged,, underneath
Let's say its not high trucks..
Is it over vibration when poured..just in that small area
Is it a release agent thats been sprayed on an ran down there an reacted..
Has it cracked away from the steel.. an the crack ran...
Im not really sure, but I could fix it ,easy...
Most epic concrete fails are usually concrete jobs done by poeple who are not concreters,,,,

This looks like a combination of salt water (chloride and sulfate) attack and overloading, both over a long period of time.

@@IntelligentConcrete ,,if its salt water it will hit the steel an rot the steel through the structure,,,an should be taken down straight away..
We use high mpa when near salt water
The concrete gives you lime burns
      Thanku for your answer
An yes you are concrete mad
      An its good to see
An your knowledge is very good to
Concrete owes me 34 years,,, an if it wasn't for concrete an concreters ,,,life would of been shit,,,,,thanku
