@@kylegentile2007 im not really trying to push mine for more horsepower its currently tuned to 675ish. My engine doesnt have the oil squirters so i baby it most of the time. The only thing is the lag on the 171702 on lower gears i smoke like crazy. Im looking for some kind of performance turbo to spool up quicker. Maybe one of them pdi turbos. Do you have any experience with those ?
I mean I agree that the Detroit is a way better engine than a cat but this does very little to prove that. And when it comes to dick length showing and dyno cells you simply do not want to be there with a 12.7 against a 15-16 liter cat. Cause they are gonna hurt your feelings most the time. Take it from a Detroit guy that’s learned the hard way.
With just changing the ecm and im syre its running hotter, is that bad for the other parts. What can I do to get the power you have while having the motor rebuilt
i ran a 14 liter 60 s on a dyno just a few weeks ago after a full out of frame rebuild at the dealer. it barley put 415 hp to the ground. thats new cam, crank, turbo etc. what did you do to that motor to get that much? btw you can see my dyno run video on my channel on youtube if your intrested.
Your was 430 hp, how much power you got now? They made some changes on my 1999 Detroit 430/500 to straight 500/500, but I can’t feel that and fuel still the same 6,3mpg for light dry (ups, Amazon , usps) loads
Detroit Nation baby 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Look at that 12.7 shine
Man those are some impressive numbers especially the torque
That's a real strong engine!
My 12.7 does right around 45psi of boost 👍I tune them
What turbo are you using ? I have a 171702 im only getting 36 psi out of mine. Idk if i can push it more
@@arturovargas6595 same turbo I had on mine. But I recommend going with a different one for higher hp

@@arturovargas6595 are you upping the fuel without adjusting boi? If so you will smoke lag will be there and egt will be high.
@nawzy202 This boi.......what do you adjust. I've adjusted the injector ms stroke on the 2d chart but I'm not sure about this boi chart

What did you do to get her there...totally impressive! This debunks those CAT guys...

@@Halfstep2024 That is true but that 500 horse 12.7 will be on the road hauling when that cat is in the shop with a hefty bill
@@Halfstep2024 that little detroit hurt a lot of big cat feelers back in the day,
the scatterpillar fanboys are N insufferable group a jackasses that think their engines are magical ill take a 14 liter detroit anyday
That should make that rooster crow
