The detail you get with 1:18 is always sick. If only I had the space!
If you liked that you should check out either their 68-70 chargers or 70 Chevelles. An immense amount of detail. I got ahold of an older release charger and haven’t regretted it at all. They do a great job
Toooo late you opened the box and are now addicted, all it takes is one box opening 😂😂. Really nice one, beautiful 👍
Lmao. Thats soo true. I was gifted 2 old road signature cars (1957 crown victoria custom and a 1955 chevy nomad) and everything went downhill from that. 180 cars later I can't find space to store them. 😅
Great review, I especially like the colour scheme used on the model.
I used to collect 1:18 in the early noughties (that’s over two decades ago… time flies 🤔). Fabulously detailed models from brands like Minichamps, AutoArt and then the “daddy’s” of that whole era: CMC & Exoto. All were very reasonably priced at the time, and still continue to wow even after twenty plus years on display. So, yes very addictive if you’re into insane levels of detail inside & out. The drawbacks are space: you can fill a largish display cabinet in next to no time, and then young families and life in general caused a halt in collecting. I got back into the hobby because 1/64 is easy to display and as you go up the premium ladder the level of detail, externally at least becomes comparable.
Enjoy your diecast model
I collect the 1:18 th scale and 1 24 th scale models plus the 1 :64 scale models of different brands.
I used to collect 1:18 scale, several years ago, but gave them all away. ✌
I have a 1:18 scale Big Foot ana a A-Team van and a few others, they played a roll in my childhood
for occasional "impulse" buys, I draw the line at 1:24 scale. For me it hits the sweet spot in terms of price, details and size, with brands like Welly and Bburago delivering the kind of models i want to have in my collection in that size. If i was to go full-on at something larger than 1:64, i think i would opt for 1:43, with the likes of Spark, Looksmart and TSM, to name a few. I only have one 1:18 car in my collection so far and it is RC car, and because it is a Porsche 918 Spider and it was on sale :)
Beautiful Truck! 1957 Chevy stepside pickup! Absolute classic! i don't have any 1/18, but i have a 1/24 M2 from Oreilly and it's a 57 Chevy too! but it's the car with the O'Reilly's Decals. If you can find place to put'em, i'd say get'em! the detailing on the larger scale cars is so much better than the 1/64, but that probably only appeals to actual gear heads and auto afficianados looking for engine and interior detailing not just the overall appearance of the car (as can be fully enjoyed with 1/64 scale diecast). thanks for sharing
Hmm. 🤔 I've never had Lienenkugals beer 🍺/ Nice Truck 👍🏁
About 20 years ago i too collected 1,/18 scale models. They are a bear to store. Most where sold off at one point but i still have some. For those at enjoy this scale thete is a lot to like. I think that for many 1/64 scale is the way to go but this is all personal. I like this truck. Nicely detailed.
It's a very cool model. I just don't have the room. I do have a few big scale models. I'm more into 1/64 scale. Thank you for sharing.
Absolutely great ending! Almost stopped the video just before you did those awesome closeups!! Glad I didn’t!
i don't collect the 1:18 scale cars i don't have any room to put them
Thank you
i have 299 1:18 Die cars@@Championdjk
Cool video championdjk
Wow great video man and congratulations!!! Man very shocked you have space for these big boys lol need a 2nd home just for Diecast lol
Beautiful truck. I've been tempted to pick up these 1:18 scale Chevy trucks from AW but my space is limited. I do have several 1:18 scale that tie into NASCAR, in which my favorite is a 2001 Chevy Monte Carlo Intimidator. Oh and Leinenkugel is sold in Texas as well, didnt know it was a Wisconsin brand, guess I learned something LOL!!
I got 6 1:18 cars, about $80 to $135, they are worth the price. I love this scale cars i recommend autoworld and acme brands.
Here's my long take. First, great video. I hope they send some more. Second, I own a whole bunch of 1/18 now - and it all started from basically where you seem to be. I was strictly only 1/64, but the 1/18s looked good and there were some models I really liked that I couldn't find in 1/64. Plus, they were not super expensive relative to premium+ 1/64s and I had some empty bookshelves in my new house and I figured 1/18s would like great there (in normal living areas). Then it spiraled as the models were so pretty and detailed. So be careful :) 1/18 are very very cool. Third, I own four AW 1/18s (Torino, Sebring, GSX and Demon). I haven't been too impressed with them relative to others. They seem a bit big. They sometimes have small quality issues. They are expensive. The castings don't seem perfect. That said, the opening features are nice and the boxes are nice. And the models are decent for detail. Overall, I find Otto Mobile and MCG to be better value, more detailed, higher quality and more accurate - but they don't do opening features (which I don't find at all). Norev is comparably priced to AW, but Minichamps is more $$$. Both do opening features. The mostly Maisto 1/18 (your Wal Mart models) are actually good. Much better value than AW, more types of models and similar (or not much worse) quality/detail IMO. Greenlight does a decent job too (much more accurate than there 1/64 and better quality), but occasionally they miss on a casting. Greenlight is better value than AW. One unique thing about AW is that they mostly do muscle, American and 70s and older whereas the other brands are mostly European focused. AW are heavy too especially compared to resin models like Otto Mobile - pros and cons there. In sum, it can be a slippery slope, but if you're disciplined getting some of your favorite cars in 1/18 and displaying them in a living area would be my advice. Plus, AW is not the best brand for 1/18 IMO - just too expensive given the accuracy and quality (plus very limited choice of type of cars). You can always sell them off if you change your mind.
Pretty cool, but very big... Off topic kinda I found the newest release of AW with the Ford gt40 the blue 1 and my buddy had picked me up the silver 1 and brought it to me this morning, so with your vid, that makes it a good day for Auto world in my life!!! Great video, thanks!
Nice!
Great camera work at the end of the video! Great episode. I've never collected 1:18. I have seen one collection of 1:18 but as you said they were on display in a living situation. I DO appreciate the detail! I just don't have the money or the room. The biggest cars I have are 1:43 and that is only because that is the only scale they came in. And I bought them from other collectors. They are the centerpiece of my collection. Great job Champ!
You did an excellent review on the 1:18 scale especially for your very first time extraordinary filming 🎥 extraordinary sound quality the video looked very vivid
Love the new angle on the table an video montage porn at the end lol
